Ukrainian paratroopers from the 79th Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces claimed to annihilate a column of Russian tanks marked with the ‘V’ letter.

Ukraine’s military claims it destroyed almost 5 Russian main battle tanks and captured some of their crews. The 79th Air Assault Brigade said in a statement on Friday, July 8: ‘”During the battle, in one of the areas of combat operations, 5 tanks were burned by paratroopers. Some of the crew members who did not burn out in military equipment were captured.”

It is unclear how many Russian soldiers managed to flee after their attempted advance on Ukrainian positions was repelled.Since Russia invaded on 24 February, claiming it wanted to “demilitarise” and “de-Nazify” Ukraine after it moved closer to Nato, thousands of civilians and combatants have been killed or wounded, and at least 12 million people have fled their homes.

Se they weren’t marked with an X, then they could have blown up 10 of them.

Putin suggesting he has just been toying with Ukraine so far, and he is going to ramp up the effort now, doesn't make sense. The time to ramp up the effort is in the first crushing blow, not bleed away your resources over a period of time. I think he is imitating "Comical Ali" in Iraq, who was giving TV press conferences to the West describing how they were crushing the Americans, while through the window behind him you could see US tanks and troops marching past to the centre of Bagdad.

No your actually totally incorrect, the X is the aiming point and nothing else. The Russians put the X on their vehicles to show the Ukrainians where to hit for maximum effect and total loss of life.

I can’t figure out why the Russians do this , but I suspect they feel like their going to die in the Ukraine anyway may as well make it sooner rather than later less suffering that way.
