European Workers Protest

Quibble over definitions, too sophomoric.  Such large protests mean ordinary people want a change that will benefit (or at least not harm) Them -- not  benefit some party or ideology.

I know. I had the same issue when I got enlisted in the army. Took me a while to catch up marching with the right foot.

My dad had to carry a brick in his left hand when he was in basic training so he could remember which was left.

Honestly, I still have issues. Especially when driving and following the instructions of my gps. "At the next intersection turn left" yeah good luck with that. Freaks my kids out every time. It is fun sometimes, not so much when I drive a semi though.

I do too.  If I am giving someone directions I tell them to go the direction I point, not the direction I say because my body knows more than my brain.   I have found the Siri gps directions to be the best.  Google just makes me mad because as you are passing an intersection driving in the left lane it will say "turn right at this intersection".  Siri tells you which lane to get in before you get to the intersection.

Whatever, doesn't change my definition.  But post 5 does not show that.  It shows without any reference how the governments leans but that does not mean all of the policies are in line with that.

Oh yes, my mistake. It's clearly all those right wing governments enacting left wing policies

Which is why they're protesting against their right wing governments.

Why don't you go look up for yourself what the protests listed in the OP are about? ;)

I disagree.  In the simplest terms left is socialist and right is free market, so what they are protesting is socialist policies.

Is it policies or the state of the world and their own losses of freedom, financial security and hope for the future?

The answer is "yes" :D  JK I only looked up what the protests in Spain were about.  Something about policy towards Catalan independence.

That might not get a sympathetic ear in Mississippi or Alabama.

Did you? Because they're all protesting against right wing policies by right wing governments.

Mostly, they're looking for more state support to balance the rising cost of living. Not exactly 'free market', wouldn't you agree?

To be fair, left and right are thngs on a sliding scale.  The author of this opinion piece might perhaps be so far right that people the likes of Reagan or Thatcher are considered as leftist socialists.  So of course all the worlds problems are caused by leftist policies in his eyes.

So the right wing biased source is pretending people are protesting against right wing policies to make the left look unpopular?

Do you want to take another run at that?

Or crazy idea, since you're the one claiming they're protesting against left wing policies, how about you put up a source for a change?

You’re the one that is depending on a far right source and I’m the one that looked into any of their claims through mainstream sources. Would you like to take another run at that?

Since they had no Internet, the older generations did not have  a menu of new things to hate and be angry about on demand every day.  They had to nurse their grudges for years sometimes before a new one came along.

Why is everyone going on strike?

Thousands of UK workers have gone on strike or threatened to this summer, including rail workers, airport staff, telecoms workers, barristers and postal workers.

Multiple walkouts risk causing widespread disruption to the public and could have a knock-on effect on consumer demand, businesses warn. But unions say they have no choice. --

The Trades Union Congress (TUC), which represents 48 affiliated unions with about 5.5 million members, has called for a "decent pay rise for public sector workers" and a £15 minimum wage across the board.

It said its research suggested workers have lost almost £20,000 since 2008 because pay has not kept pace with inflation.

Well that is the point. @Amita started a misleading post with a misleading "breaking news" by a discredited and misleading quasi newspaper organisation. Amitas claim was completely misleading and I called it out with facts.

So it is not about right or left but about misleading attention grabbers. And yes, even the article discredits itself once read. Just a cluster####.
