Still Waters Posted July 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2022 (IP: Staff) · A young man has been killed by police after he reportedly shot five members of his family that he had been keeping hostage since last night. Local reports suggest the man, in his twenties, killed his father, his stepmother and three children in Douvres, a town in eastern France. The unnamed gunman had locked himself in the home on Tuesday, raising the alarm of local residents, report Mirror Online. The National Gendarmerie Intervention Group, an elite unit of the French police from Dijon, were then called to intervene and had been at the location since around 11.30pm on Tuesday. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/family-shot-dead-hostage-france-27533250 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11032433/Man-22-shoots-dead-five-family-members-including-father-three-children-France.html 5 Top
+and-then Posted July 20, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2022 The decision making in these situations is extremely difficult but I'm beginning to think that the whole idea of waiting to negotiate should become a thing of the past. Storming the location could also have resulted in the same number of dead but I think it's time for police to be trained to do that in all cases. May the family rest in peace. What a world.
