And looks like one of my fellow jackass Americans is likely responsible.

Well, it’s possible. Afterall, US soldiers did vandalize ancient Sumerian structures in Ur Iraq back in the early 2000s… :(

True, but at the same time, the Taliban and ISIS were busy destroying other ancient structures and artifacts.  We weren't the only ones guilty of vandalism

We're notorious for destroying all that is good in the world.

Not we, but Isis and these coward extremists, have destroyed ancient monuments in Iraq.  These animals need to be exterminated.

Just a hunch.    Either us or Brits.   But let's be real, did you see it?  Looks very much like something an American would have done.  Could be wrong.

Not that far off.  Romans wrote a lot of graffiti, for advertisement (food, prostitutes), messages (e.g., "meet me at the Forum"), reviews (of food, prostitutes), to insults.  One, as I recall, warned prostitutes to stay away from XYZ because he has a small penis.

That's funny why are most of the ones I have heard of about penises. And most of the statues naked. Rome must have been fun.
