Having watched grandparents and parents, memory losses and confusion do occur, but senile is another level. Only one of my parents and parents-in-law actually became senile in her late 70's and lived to be 83. My mom was 85 and my father in law 93 and both in possession of their faculties. Hard to say what would have happened to my dad, he had an aneurism at 70, died on his way to play racquetball. I don't think Biden is actually senile, but entering the confusion and memory loss stage. Of course, I am not a doctor. Yet, if a murderer was identified twenty years later, if he was senile they wouldn't just say Oh Well. They would still charge, but sentence to a facility, not a prison. Quote But you can imagine some plausible defenses for the documents. One would be that when Biden began his presidential run, he abandoned that office, delegated his aids to clean it out, and never looked back. Biden once said, "The buck stops here". Not directly in reference to documents, but the responsibility is the same. It was his office. His closet. His documents. I'm sure in 2017 the Archives told him the rules on retained documents, and assuming he wasn't a vegetable at the time.... He knew what he was doing. Quote Two lessons, two presidents; will it be enough to teach us? It seems like a better system needs to be in place to handle presidential documents. It does make me wonder how tight security actually is for classified documents. Could other people walk out with them too? Perhaps there should be tighter regulations on such docs. Like having a person specifically responsible for them who will go to prison is they are removed, stolen, lost, or kept too long. Staying out of Federal Prison would be a big motivator to keep things tight.

They should indict if they have a case they think they can prosecute and likely win, as they do in other cases. I still think for any president or vice president that is indicted and convicted for this, they should invoke the 14th Amendment and not allow them into public office again. I don't care if they are just under house arrest after that, but being convicted of mishandling government information results in life changing events for us common people if we were the defendant. 2
Tatetopa Posted January 12 #1929 Share Posted January 12 In fact, I think this case got legs because Republicans can use this against Biden and gain some leverage for Trump. People assume that Democrats will come rushing to save Joe, probably out of reflex they will. Then Republicans can argue that Trump must be exonerated too. If Democrats are unable or unwilling to stonewall for Biden, and DOJ proceeds against both, they can take Biden and Trump out of the running. I will whisper this, but even some Republicans would favor that. A convenient way to replace both 80 year old geezers with younger candidates. 2

He was already suffering from alzheimers when he ran for president. The president has become a puppet, even Trump served some purpose that only the puppet masters know. Leave Joe alone, he will last the next two years and will have served his purpose.
