'Ghost woman' wearing long coat and hat is caught on camera

An eerie figure believed to be the ghost of a woman has been caught on camera at a historic coastal graveyard.

Mandy Steel, a cleaner from Sunderland in Tyne and Wear, had travelled with her two adult children on Saturday, August 13 to Tynemouth Priory in North Tyneside, where she decided to take photos of the ruins.

But it was not until later when the 45-year-old returned home and looked at her pictures that she said she spotted a ghostly figure of a woman in old-fashioned clothing standing behind a family.

Ms Steel added: 'It's really odd because my daughter was also taking photos of the same place at the same time, but her phone didn't pick anything up.

Yeah she's not even wearing "old fashioned" clothing, I'd say. It can just be interpreted that way due to the distance and her being silhouetted against the sky.
To me it just looks like a woman wearing an ordinary hat and long coat, just like some people do today when the weather is cool and there might be rain coming.

I guess this lady never heard of a photo bomb ( accidental )

The story says daughter took a pic same time same place with no ghost lady but thats meaningless, and she said she looked thru her days pics and didnt see that same hat...no, people never remove a hat, this is like a couple people already said, a real women not a ghost.

I looked at the photo. If you scroll down the article, you see another photo  with the woman standing, but also some other people as well. I just think it's a visitor.

She's literally with a group of people that were known to be there. Photographer is a complete idiot making such stupid claims.

"Oh, I didn't notice that one person way off in the distance slightly apart from all those other people way off in the distance, must be a GhOsT since I keep specific location tabs on every single person I see at all times, especially while I'm absentmindedly snapping pictures of cluttered landscapes! Better call the daily rag and make some money!"

Surprised the moron didn't try to say all of them were "ghosts".

A poor woman can now be offended and angry if she is declared a ghost.

What if she identifies as a ghost?

How to take a ghost picture:

1. Take photo of public space with people in picture

2. Claim people photographed were not there when picture was taken

3. Send picture captioned "ghost"  to daily rag

4. Profit and fool idiots with no critical thinking skills

5. Get laughed at by non-morons

You do realise elderly people still wear old clothes right?

There not enough detail in the clothing to say when it’s from.

Certainly something I considered in the reading.

True, it suggests the 1940[s to 1950's to me but the stronger evidence is the claim that no one was there that looked like that. And I know no one's testimony is perfect, so I left in undecided and gave a percentage. My reading allows for the possibility of a living person too.

The new and improved papameter still says

100% real woman

Funny how some people try to pretend that the normal is paranormal. That must be due to the simple fact that no one can ever demonstrate that anything is paranormal. The fall back is to claim the prosaic is something other than what it actually is.

I checked my full lot of photos to see if anyone was dressed like that but no one was wearing a hat.

Well there we have it as we know people never remove a hat.

Yep, so pretty much any pic of a person could be claimed to be a ghost and get a 75% paranormal on some asinine meter.

You'd have to be a moron to believe anything paranormal can be captured on film.

She didn’t even notice the figure until later so she wasn’t looking for someone that looked like that while she was there. When you’re out in public do you recall what everyone was wearing?

In this photo it actually looks like 2 people. The person in the hat and a younger/shorter person next to him/her.
