Eldorado Posted September 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Police made several arrests after disturbances broke out at what the force termed “an unplanned protest” on Saturday. Fifteen people were then detained on Sunday evening in east Leicester “to deter further disorder”. The violence came amid tension between mainly young men from the Hindu and Muslim communities in the East Midlands city. Additional officers had been on patrol in the area in recent weeks after a number of incidents of disorder following an Asia Cup cricket match between India and Pakistan. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/india-condemns-religious-violence-in-leicester-after-15-arrested/ar-AA121qsX? 2 1 Top
itsnotoutthere Posted September 21, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) Yes, seen a few things on this, though the msm seems to be turning a blind eye. And all over a cricket match, hate to think how this would pan out over something a bit more serious. Still Waters Posted September 27, 2022 #9 Share Posted September 27, 2022 (IP: Staff) · Leicester disorder 'not exclusively' Hindus and Muslims - police The recent disorder in Leicester did not only involve Hindus and Muslims, the city's head of police has said. Temporary Chief Constable Rob Nixon warned against "broad, sweeping comments" about the unrest. Tensions involving mainly young men from sections of the Muslim and Hindu communities culminated in large-scale disorder on 17 September. This has led to nearly 50 arrests, 158 crimes being recorded and nine people being charged. "Everybody likes to simplify the message, and make broad, sweeping comments that 'this is the Hindus versus the Muslims, and the Muslims against the Hindus'," Mr Nixon told the BBC. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-63038691
