It'd trigger a climate change and we'd ultimately be living in an ice age, assuming there were survivors. I hope it doesn't go in my lifetime. Ash would begin raining down and it'd ultimately restrict you to your home for weeks on end. You'd have to stock up on a huge load of food and water if you've got any chance of survival.
