Indian man has kept his right arm raised for over a decade to honor his God

Mahant Radheypuri Juna Akhara, an Indian sadhu – a religious or holy person who has renounced their worldly life – from Allahabad has been keeping his right arm raised high above his head for more than 10 years in honor of a Hindu deity. He was recently featured in a viral Twitter video, telling the interviewer that he wanted to do something for his god, so that it notices him. So he raised his right arm up and never put it down again. Today, it’s sort of stuck in that position, and he claims he doesn’t even feel it anymore.

To me, this is both amazing and completely sad simultaneously.

Yeah, like that guy that handicapped himself with long fingernails then after basically having them and little else all his life into his 80s he has them cut off.

He can only communicate with the invisible sky gods on certain computers made in the 1980s, and it's hard to type with one hand. So this may not work.

But surely all blood would've been gone from his arm, is this possible?

I couldn't bring myself to reading it all.

Didn't Jesus say something to the effect that people who make big public displays about their piousness "Verily, they have their reward"?  He may be impressing some people but I doubt he's impressing God.

He must not have a job - how does he support himself? He probably thinks that, if he's pathetic enough, people will give him money. Just another example of how ridiculous religion can be. Who, in their right mind, thinks that holding his/her arm in the air, is any kind of tribute to some 'sky daddy'. I have absolutely no sympathy for this nut case.

Would you like someone to let him know?

Why does he think he is deserving of praise and respect for doing something so stupid? Is there not other ways to show his 'devotion' like, maybe giving food to the hungry or helping homeless pets or maybe even helping to restore forests previously cut down or something?
