You may want to rethink that statement.

Russia, China, Iran, NK and other's don't give a damn about that.

Aside from NK and China, which one of the others has punished whistleblowers and why does the U.S. still allow Chinese imports, if a moral standpoint is the issue involved?

Punish them? They frigging throw them in prison or execute them.

As far as Chinese imports, it's because of how communist countries operate.

Low wages, long hours... all for the direct and exclusive benefit of the communist government.

And they're using all this "rape-money" to build up massive military capabilities.

Simple.

China is no longer a Communist country. If it was, there wouldn't be any millionaires there. Not even rich persons. China is simply an industrial country running a plan economy

This reads very familiar. Where else do people have to work several jobs earning overly-inflated currencey, in order to pay bills?

He doesn't own anything.  He is leveraged up to his eyeballs, why do you think he has so many fund raisers?    He used to get people with a lot of money to support him and his cons but now he is mostly on his own, which is why the law is finally after him.

Putin's opponents and critics often mysteriously die

This is just since that start of the war in Ukraine

If you Google there are list going back years of murdered journalist, politicans, businessmen

China's modern communist. They adapted by allowing free Enterprise to survive. The government there still has ultimate control over everything. No elections. Concentration camps of non-han cultures. State ran media and internet fire wall that bans dissent. Forced tech transfers from foreign companies. Etc

CCP = the Chinese communist party

Are you mixing up Russia with the former Soviet Union? Just because Russia still has remnants and some basic structures dating back to Soviet times doesen't mean that they're conducting a plan economy along communist lines

China still has the same Politburo governmental structure as it did during Mao's era, as well as a plan economy at an upper level. Allowing free enterprise and the existence of an upper class automatically divorces China from true communism. What we end up with is an authoritative and regionally menacing expansionist entity of which could even qualify as national socialistic

So did Clinton's. They were only able to do so, simply because assassins had access to them. If Snowden were to be made logistically available to assassination, he'd also be long gone by now

I don't think you really understand. The high profile level of the people Putin has killed are like if Trump was assassinated in 2016. And it's frequent.

As for the on paper Bible of what communism is I don't care. I judge things by how they are in the real world, in practice.

Edward Snowden, a former National Security Agency contractor who leaked information about U.S. surveillance programs, swore an oath of allegiance to Russia and has collected his Russian passport, his lawyer told state media on Friday.

“Edward received a Russian passport yesterday and took the oath in accordance with the law,” lawyer Anatoly Kucherena said, according to Russia’s Interfax news agency. “He is, of course, happy, thanking the Russian Federation for the fact that he received citizenship,” he continued. “And most importantly, under the Constitution of Russia, he can no longer be extradited to a foreign state.

Well living in Russia as it exists right now sounds like it would be very unpleasant for a lot of people(and I'm basing that off of tales from Russian emigrants and people living in Russia) , so we can assume Mr. Snowden is getting what he deserves.

Good on him.  He deserves a little less threat in his life.  This is the guy about whom Hillary once said  "can't we just drone him?"  I didn't pay much attention at the time he first set the intel community on fire but I've since listened to him on YT and I have respect for his principles and I wish him the best.  I seriously doubt he was able to feed much seriously compromising info of our security system.  He mostly just got sick of what he saw going on against average Americans and he TORCHED his bosses for their sleazy behavior.  I'd give him a medal.

OTH, if I was in control of Bradley Manning's fate, if he was proven to have used his clearance to harm the military he swore an oath to, I'd have put him against a wall.

No I don’t think he is getting what he deserves at all. Snowden is a traitor and the only reason Russia has allowed him to stay and given him citizenship is because he has cooperated and given the Russians classified information or technical data that compromises the United States. If Snowden had nothing of value to give the Russians they would have gotten rid of him long ago, the Russian Government doesn’t give anything away for free. I think Snowdens value lays in his computer skills and his knowledge of US Systems and how they are integrated. I believe he is working with Russian Troll farms that infiltrate media and government sites where these sites insert misinformation, Disinformation and Conspiracy Theories.

I think coming back to the U.S. or any other European country is probably too much of a gamble for him. The odds would be against him.

Edward Snowden is pretty much a worldwide celebrity. Russia could afford to take him in without facing repercussions, whether he had any sensitive information to share or not.

The fact that he is a highly intelligent IT systems expert is just a big plus.

Edward Snowden is certainly not a worldwide celebrity, he is the poster child however for what a Traitor looks like. Russia or any Nation would not take in a fugitive out of the kindness of their heart. Russia would have forced him to leave years ago if he didn’t have some value that’s the way things are done in the real world.

I don’t know how intelligent he actually is, but he certainly has a knowledge of how US Systems are integrated through levels of security and through sections of the Government. There is no telling exactly how much, and what level of security classification the documents he stole were. However, it was released that some of the information he stole did endanger Americans working outside the United States.

He had the opportunity to be a hero if he would have followed the proper channels as outlined in the regulation that was written for Whistle Blowers by the DOJ.

This^ may well be true but other than hardware and architecture, most of what he worked at would have been changed immediately.  His greatest value to Putin was giving the U.S. a (IMO) well-deserved black eye over their spying on Americans.  I mean, you KNOW he stepped on some DC toes when HRC actually called to have a U.S. citizen executed extrajudicially.  If you've never listened to his podcast appearances on YT, try one of them.  The guy is FAR from being a villain trying to take America down.  He's just nailing the sleazy crowd in DC who are abusing the rest of us with totally illegal surveillance, just because they "can".

You mean like the 20-30 current whistleblowers from within the FBI?  That isn't working out too well for them.  Wray and his minions are creating a documentation trail to get rid of them ASAP and THAT is illegal but if it's something that is desired by the DC crowd, laws be damned.

I am not aware of the situation your talking about. But, in Snowdens case he certainly didn’t follow the instructions provided by the DOJ for Whistle Blowers, instead he decided to betray our country.

I mean yes, it's not right that that ****ing idiot remains at large. But he remains at large in Putin's Russia. And he used to live in the US before that. Would you want to move from the US to Putin's Russia?

Granted, he's likely not suffering as much under the state of affairs there as the common people appear to from what expats told me. And he's, as far as I know, not an LGBTQ+ person. But still.
