"Disguising fentanyl as candyand concealing it in children's toys — will never hide the fact that fentanyl is a deadly poison that harms our communities, our families, and our city," NYPD Commissioner Keechant L. Sewell said in a statement.

I find it difficult to believe that these cops cannot determine WHO is smuggling this poison and from where it comes.  Once they are found, they should be charged with MURDER.  Anyone who smuggles or SELLS this poison, should die for killing children.  The great, enlightened state of New York will never do anything so "brutal" to these poor, minority dealers but in states where the lives of children are valued more, this scum needs to be held accountable and QUICKLY!

Furthermore, if solid proof exists that this poison can be traced to China, severe sanctions should be put in place AND any ships or aircraft used to bring it here should be boarded and seized.

No drug dealer is going to give away drugs for free. Think about it.

Actually, it's a good idea: gets more people addicted (who might otherwise not have tried them).   Then you start charging them more and more and more .....

Right, because those 12 and under have a steady source of income.

They can be given one ;)    "Okay, you want more of these nice shiny pills?   Just deliver this package for me ..... "

(But I wasn't specifically referring to children that young)

The idea of putting it in halloween candy "to get them addicted" is idiotic. The kids wouldn't even know what they were taking, what they were feeling, where it came from, how to get more, etc. It's not a money making plan that works.

And this article is pretty stupid too. They act like drugs being shipped in a box of legos means some kid will somehow get a hold of those legos? No, the smugglers know what's in the box and aren't just going to let it end up with a random kid. Again, not a plan that makes money.

Of course they hide stuff in things you wouldn't suspect - that's how smuggling works.

I doubt if they were intended to be distributed to children and was just a means of transport through customs

Fentanyl pills in Legos? It's called a Trojan Horse, a transport mechanism. There's a slim chance these people are looking to kill kids en masse, but I'm going first with what is, in my opinion, the more logical approach from which to work.

What the hell would be the purpose of trying to get Lego age kids addicted to fentanyl? That makes absolutely no sense, it's not like they have the money to buy it. I heard that kinda stuff my entire childhood in the 90s and it was all horse crap lol

Can we discuss the real issue then?

Even criminals have plans that go awry.   Not all the time, but if thing don't go well, it is kids who would be most likely to end up with the drugs.

Everybody complains about the MSM but are even more happy to write their own fairy tales to play identity politics.

The investigation was conducted by DEA’s New York Drug Enforcement Task Force (NYDETF) Group T-12, which is comprised of agents and officers with DEA New York Division and the New York City Police Department.  SNP’s Investigators Unit assisted in the investigation.

On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at approximately 7:11 p.m., members of NYDETF Group T-12 were conducting surveillance as part of an ongoing investigation into narcotics trafficking when they allegedly observed Bush carrying what appeared to be a black tote bag wrapped around a large object as she entered a vehicle in front of 475 10th Avenue in Manhattan.
