Intelligent life has gotta be out there but rare and the expanse so mind numbingly huge we'll never see it. Microbial on the other hand is probably everywhere

It starts with what one sees as "intelligent life" me i see many creatures as intelligent but think of creatures on earth that have been here longer than us modern humans those creatures are not trying to visit other planets they likely arent even pondering it they are content with their lives.

The universe is mind bottling huge but that doesnt mean that other higher creatures are a must personally i would like to think they are but just because i hope so doesnt make it fact.

What really sux is because of the vastness we might ever known the answer.

I think the folks at NASA know much more than they would like us to know.

SPACE-LIFE REPORT COULD BE SHOCK,

UFOI, Vol. I, No. II (Dec 1960 - Jan 1961 issue)

The discovery of intelligent space beings could have a severe effect on the public, according to a research report released by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The report warned that America should prepare to meet the psychological impact of such a revelation.

The 190-page report was the result of a $96,000 one-year study conducted by the Brookings Institution for NASA's long-range study committee. Public realization that intelligent beings live on other planets could bring about profound changes, or even the collapse of our civilization, the research report stated.

What guff.  We have all been raised on movies about Extraterrestrials.  The only person who will be depressed about it is 13Bats, because he is determined to tip cold p*ss on anything remotely interesting people want to discuss with an attitude that isn't totally closed to the possibility.

True but it would be very odd if that were the case.

It would raise all sorts of questions and create a new mystery. Hay day for religious fanatics

This article just says there are lots of galaxies. We know that. That's like saying you're going to win the lottery because you bought lots of lotto tickets.

Those questions already exist and life on Earth is already a "hay day for religious fanatics".

If I was the alien watching us, and had to decide if the Earthlings should be contacted... I'd vote no.

I'm sure NASA Has a Theory for Why We Might NOT Be Alone in the Universe as well...

everyone has a theory. Why would NASA's theory be any more informed than ours in this forum?

I don’t know utilizing actual scientists to interpret the data perhaps?

yeah of course but they know as much as we do with regards to facts about life elsewhere in the universe.

& to suggest we have not made contact is because all the intelligent life forms have destroyed them selves is kinda stupid coming from scientists IMO.

But hey, it's a theory.. as i said= anyone can do that;)
