4 college students found murdered In Idaho.

Four University of Idaho students who were found dead off campus on Sunday were believed to be the victims of homicide, school officials said. The students were identified by the Moscow, Idaho, police as: Ethan Chapin, 20, of Conway, Washington; Madison Mogen, 21, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Xana Kernodle, 20, of Avondale, Arizona; and Kaylee GonCalves, 21, of Rathdrum, Idaho. Something had occurred that resulted in these deaths -- there was no robbery," the Mayor of Moscow Idaho said.

Words cannot adequately describe the light these students brought to this world or ease the depth of suffering we feel at their passing under these tragic circumstances," Green said in a statement. "The university is working directly with those affected and is committed to supporting all students, families and employees as this event undeniably touches all of us."

The two surviving female roommates -- who have not been ruled "in or out at suspects" in the fatal stabbings -- are "working and talking with detectives, and they have been cooperative -- very cooperative," Idaho State Police spokesman Aaron Snell told ABC News on Thursday.

 

It could be one of the  roommate `s ex boy friend she was mad and killed him and all his girl friends :((

I saw on the news last night that it was known as a party house. One of the students who was friends with the victims said there was a keypad at the front door used to enter the house and that the tenants weren't very private about handing out the code numbers. I can't find a US link to this at the moment but I did find this from the Daily Mail. It contains pictures of the inside of the house.

The NY Post says police want to talk to people who are in the video of two of the victims at a food truck about an hour or so before they were murdered. They are interested in one man in particular who seems to be hanging around them. They have not named him as a suspect.

Does anyone besides me think it odd that two girls were home and alive, yet no one called 911 until noon? I suppose college students would tend to sleep late after a night out partying but I wonder why those girls didn't say anything about the house being so quiet. I suppose they could have left for somewhere that morning. None of the reports I've seen say who it was that found the bodies or who finally called 911.

What a tragic and bizarre case. Obviously the assailant(s) did not use a gun, so that tells me he/them did not own or had access to a gun, or was even old enough.

A young person with very little money is the assailant, I think anyway.

Hopefully we will hear that the FBI has developed leads.

Officers have not identified a suspect or found a blade that was used to stab the students, Moscow Police Chief James Fry said Wednesday. But the Idaho Statesman reported this week that police are searching for a military-style knife in connection with the killings. Scott Jutte, general manager of Moscow Building Supply, told the newspaper that officers have visited the store more than once to ask whether it sold anyone Ka-Bar-brand knives. Ka-Bar, of Olean, New York, manufactures military-grade blades that were originally designed for use by American troops in World War II, the Statesman said.

 

It could be a  military veteran neighbor, that was mad at  the  party noise, and went over and stabbed the kids:(

Of course the police have or are extensively interviewing everyone anywhere near the crime scene!!

That's just standard investigative procedure.

Here's a report about how two of the victims repeatedly called the same man numerous times between 2:26 am and 2:52 that night according to one of their sisters. Police haven't named him as a person of interest. I wonder why all the calls.

The family of one of the victims is afraid the funeral could be a target, also. Why would that even be a concern?  What kind of revenge could they be concerned with?
