Hahaha Desantis had a pretty mature and reasonable response. It interesting comparing his response vs Trump's. Trump says outrageous things which gets more headline. More publicity. I prefer leaders to act more like Desantis then a juvenile. But I suppose the voters will decide

Just waiting for Ivanka, Melania, and the boys to team up to put Donald in a managed care facility for dementia. That way they can take the money before it all disappears. Just like in Game of Thrones, Trump family loyalty only extends until the patriarch becomes weak enough to take out. Just imagine Putin or Xi visiting President Trump and feeding him pureed carrots and peas at a "State" dinner at "Pleasant Acres." What do they make the odds on that now? Are we fantasy booking the White House? If so, I'm hoping Steve Austin will come out of retirement and put a Stone Cold Stunner on Joe Biden. Then he'll chug a beer with Donald Trump and then put a Stunner on Trump too before being elected president and scheduling his first match as a cross promotional UFC fight against Vladimir Putin Austin 2024, has a nice ring to it Edited April 15 by Paranoid Android

I've been tracking the odds since basically the time Trump announced he was running, and last week he was at $1.83. That was the first time Trump floated in the betting, because the time before that he was at $1.80. Prior to that, he was at $2.20, and when he first announced his run he was the outsider at $3.80. As far as being president, Biden is still the overall favourite ($2.70, vs Trump's $3.40 and Ron DeSantis' $5) but Trump is now the outright second favourite (Ron DeSantis was the second favourite in previous days, around $3 while Trump was around $4). There's still a long time for things to change, but the fact that the odds are getting better all the time suggest that Trump isn't drifting the way people seem to claim he's drifting. I still think Ron DeSantis will be the nominee (has DeSantis even announced a run yet, expect a sharp change in the odds when/if he announces), but the odds from those who make a living off taking people's money seem to suggest Trump is a firm favourite. Means little in the big scheme of things, since Trump might be popular with republicans, but unelectable with the general electorate

But if you believe the (left wing) posters here, he is zero chance of being even the Republican candidate. I still think it'll be DeSantis vs Biden in 2024, but Trump's chances are much higher than many leftists on this forum want to admit, as evidenced by the betting odds! And though I still think DeSantis will be the Republican nominee it wouldn't surprise me at all if Trump wins instead!

DeSantis stands a better chance of beating Biden than Trump, because he appeals to independent and moderate GOP voters whereas Trump is persona non grata with this demographic Desantis must first beat Trump. Very hard, and probably the reason why Biden is so happy and confident these days Edited April 15 by Unusual Tournament

I know some do, but if you've been reading these boards for any reasonable length of time you'd see that there is a significant portion of the left wing community here at UM who literally say Trump has less than zero chance. They ridicule the very idea and say that the GOP will NEVER endorse Trump. The betting odds seem to show otherwise (and the arguments some of these left wing posters have used to explain why the betting odds are dropping all the time is quite astounding). As noted, I'm not arguing Trump will be the nominee, I still think DeSantis will be the candidate despite him being the big underdog now. But it's clearly not the zero chance game that is being sold to us by those on the left. I wonder if they are simply watching left wing news sources and making assumptions that Trump won't be the nominee, or whether there is another reason, you'll have to ask them. I have seen this sentiment drop a little in the past 2-3 weeks so maybe some of the more reasonable left wing posters are starting to see that Trump really does have a chance. +Paranoid Android Posted April 22 #475 Share Posted April 22 Odds have changed again. Trump firmed ever so slightly in Primaries betting ($1.50, down from $1.57) but DeSantis is going less well, his odds have increased from $3.20 to $3.75. Trump is now$3.40 to be president, only slightly behind the $2.75 favourite Biden, and ahead of DeSantis who is at $5.50.
