Odds have changed again.  Trump firmed ever so slightly in Primaries betting ($1.50, down from $1.57) but DeSantis is going less well,  his odds have increased from $3.20 to $3.75.  Trump is now$3.40 to be president,  only slightly behind the $2.75 favourite Biden, and ahead of DeSantis  who is at $5.50.

I’d donate $10.00 if they would all get lost.   ( I’ve  never seen odds displayed in dollars and cents before..is that new math? )

I predict trump is saving his hole card…he will ,more and more, try to align himself with Christianity… God and Country will be his new battle cry…and ,sadly, it will be very effective!

It's just the way betting agencies in Australia have always presented their odds. Agencies in the UK or US tend to express the odds as a fraction, like 3-1 or 7-5. I prefer the Aussie way, it takes the mental calculation out of it and simply says - you give us $1, if you win you'll get XYZ back in return.

Considering Trump's long history that seemingly demonstrates his non-religiosity it'll be interesting to see if he does go that route.

Hi PA

Isn’t that what Christianity is all about, repenting and forgiveness. Not much of a stretch of imagination that he wouldn’t pull a Jim Baker performance to woo the crowd.

That's  crap.  I walked through the on-track gambling ring with my grand father in the eighties.  On track bookies used fractional odds.

Scrupulous punters kept an eye on a book's total to find value.  The higher the total the higher the margin for the bookie.  You demonstrated your ignorance when you wer callwd out on a book that didn't even total 100 per cent.

I have a pocket ready reckoner from my grandfather that assisted Aussie punters in the transition from fractional to decimal odds.  Decimal odds are also called European odds.

American odds is another thing altogether.

It's super simple to check what you say before you put your foot in your mouth.

I've never been to a race track in my life! I'm talking about online betting agencies operating out of Australia,  like SportsBet  TAB, Ladbrokes, and others.

Edit: I lie,  I just remembered going to a track once several years ago with an ex, I don't recall the odds being fractional but I'll accept I may be wrong. Either way,  I'm quite versed in how online agencies work,  my comments about that are still entirely valid.

Bull! I didn't copy the whole list for the sake of brevity (IIRC I copied the top 5 candidates, which you correctly observed did not add up to $100), and I know you saw my follow up post where I posted the rest  of the candidates to demonstrate that (eg, right now Sidney Powell is paying $276 to be the Republican nominee, being just one example)! I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you missed the post where I posted the rest of the candidates,  because otherwise you'd be intentionally lying to cast me in a bad light,  and that's just bad form!

I use online agencies such as the ones I've been quoting.  If the race tracks use other systems while at the track itself,  then mea culpa. But everything I've said is consistent with online betting in Australia in 2023, whereas I've only ever seen fractional odds listed on overseas betting agencies!

It's super simple to check what you say before you accuse others of putting their foot in their mouth!

Champ, when I told you your idds didnt even total 100 per cent, you protested by trying to tell me how decimal odds work.  You seem to be cherry picking over one of your bery own posts.  What a surprise.

These decimal odds have not always been used by betting Australian bookies.  Like I said fractional odds were common at least until the eighties, and, I have a copy of a punters ready reckoner from the time of transition.  Furthermore l, reading an Ian Heads' column on his approach to forming a book for the Sydney Rugby League Premiership, as an eigth grader, probably gave me the greatest insight how bookies worked.

Bookies are less like polls and more like insurance. The odds are all about managing risk.

To repeat Australian betting agencies have not always used decimal odds.  You won't admit your wrong; but, you've replaced your assertions with weazel words of how what you said always was is consistent with the present.

You yank your plates out of your gob and you still have the need to spit the dummy.

I don't care what it was like in the 80s, I'm talking about online betting in 2023! For some reason you are hellbemt on living in the past!

Oh, and as you DID see my follow up post about the other candidates and still choose to write what you did,   I know you're intentionally lying about me! Edit: see this page of this thread, post #56

I don't talk to liars!

Have a whinge.  You said agencies have always used decimal odds in Australia.  That's not true.

When I told you your market didn't add up to 100 per cent, you proceeded to try and explain what the decimal odds meant, but also revealing you were clueless about how they are calculated.  All that happened before your "follow up post".

Don't project your dishonesty and hypocrisy on to me.  Own what you post, or don't post.
