I mean good lol. I'm serious. I'm glad Biden doesn't have a cult following.

I don't see any Biden flags, Biden hats. I don't see truck convoys with Biden flags (this does happen in my city with Trump flags).

I don't have to worry about Biden having fanatical followers.

I felt similar about Bernie. I don't like when candidates have followers who seem to care more about the person than their ideas itself. I think the term often used is populist.

Like I've never gone to a presidential candidates rally.

To these people, it literally seems strange to them that others don't worship a politician or ideologue.

To a certain bent of religious mind in America, it's easier to worship Trump than that Jesus fella. Heck, have you seen some of the commie stuff the latter said?

"We have no king but Caesar" and all that.

At least the people who said that didn't simultaneously profess to believe in Him.

I don't think Jesus said that, I think that was Paul and even so your "quote" is completely out of context.  It was "render unto Ceasar what is Ceasars..."  But it is easier to "worship" someone you can see than someone who has been dead for over 2000 years

Correct in that Jesus didn't say the phrase I stated in the story. Incorrect in that it was Paul. See John 19:15.

Incorrect that it was Paul who said the quote you've presented. That was Jesus, at least in the synoptic text, see Matthew 22:15-22 as an example.

EDIT: I see the difficulty. I switched gears in the middle of my post. I wasn't trying to say that the quote was one of the "commie things" Jesus said. I was presenting a parallel to pseudo-religious Magats rejecting Him in favor of secular authority which parallels the arc of the Biblical story.

I don't think anyone has a clue what Jesus said or didn't say. The Gospels were written and re-written centuries after he died, Hardly Gospel, in fact.

Yeah yeah yeah, I get that and I'm not interested in a discussion about the actual historicity of it. However, there are people who take it, no pun intended, as Gospel. And a heckuva lot of them worship an Orange Calf.

See that, another Biblical reference.

I agree with this, but it is not only America. See, in my mind, every religion and ideology started out with progressive ideas, most of them good and adapted to the certain area and age. But, as we could see in all religions and ideologies, in a short period they become a cult where only that religion or ideology is the right one no matter what.

Jews screwed up Judaism. Christians screwed up Christianity. Muslims screwed up Islam. Capitalist screwed up capitalism and  communists screwed up communism. They all screwed it up by creating a cult out of it.

Trump started out as an outsider with a good message about making america great again. It failed, he failed. But what did not fail? The making of a new cult, again.

Cults are dangerous. Very. Dangerous.

Donald Trump everyone. The guy Acid Head would like to be president of the US.

Donald Trump, the man who talks about the big issues plaguing Americans of *check notes* the US women's soccer team...

Also, cheering the loss of our national sports team seems pretty... Unpresidential

When that national sports team is lying to you about equal pay and playing the victim, it's not surprising when they lose and get called out on their lies that those who actually support equal rights celebrate the demise of the lying liars who always lie. As an Australian I watched the game last night and felt no guilt in cheering the Swedes (I'd have cheered them as underdogs even without this, but watching Megan Rapinoe miss her penalty was one of the highlights of my evening). But if it was our Aussie team that was suing for equal pay when they already had equal pay and reached a settlement that actually pays them more than the men and still complain about equal pay, I'd be cheering against them too.

I give two ****s about this dude. Ive never watch the US women's soccer team in my life. This isn't anywhere near the top of list of problems or concerns in the US

Again, Trump running for president and this is what he finds important to rage "tweet" about

"AMERICA IS GOING TO HELL!!! MAGA."

The dude is unhinged and should never touch office again

I came over to see how this soccer talk got into the Trump thread. I see now. But equal pay or no equal pay , a loss is a loss , nobody's perfect.

You seemed unaware of the reasons why some people would have a problem with the USWNT and why they would celebrate the demise of this team. I provided a context as to why Americans would be happy that they lost. I thought you actually cared about the topic, I didn't realise you were just taking an opportunity to attack Trump.

I care what the presidential candidate is rage tweeting about. And as suspected it is something that dosen't effect the average voter in the slightest.

"AMERICA IS GOING TO HELL!!"

Thats the type of moron who is running for president. Quality stuff right there.

Yeah that's why tweet was in quotations in my other post.

No one says "rage truth" or whatever. Human slang and all that.

You obviously care enough to weigh in on an anonymous internet forum to vent your displeasure that someone said "we're going to hell" as one sentence of one social media post, but you don't care enough to find out why people are upset about them, or if this one social media post were really the one and only thing Trump has said all week about public policy. You care enough to categorically determine that this one social media post is reason enough to never vote him into office again.

"We're going to hell!!! MAGA" is obvious political speech.  Attacking Megans missed penalty kick was funny as heck because she's attacked Trump numerous times.  Trump's always been the master at counter punching.

Nice shot Megan!
