Comrade is Trump's word. It fits right in with yours.

I don't consider your imagination valid.

Lots of people really dislike Trump. Are they all like him too now?

So does this mean you love us even more, just like Trump? It seems to start your engine.

Hot topic subjects dominate news and swing swing voters though. For people sitting on the fence an issue like abortion I feel would likely affect that vote.

Depends on your news source. Vast majority of Republicans wstch Fox, or nothing. Majority of Democrats watch CNN, MSNBC, and ABC, or nothing.

Can't be influenced by stories you don't watch and don't care about.

Its true you can influnce the people on the fence, but polls repeatedly show the fence sitters care about three or four other subjects way more. The Economy, Immigration, Jobs, Healthcare...

Here is a list from Statistica, which is probably a compilation of many polls.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/1398115/most-important-voter-issues-party-us/

As you can see Abortion is 5th, and though very important (14%) to Democrats, it has the same low rating (5%) with Republicans and Independents.

Screenshot_20240916_230517_Chrome.jpg.e856c81f884d954d91a0f173955f3e74.jpg

Those Independents who would be won over by Abortion, have already been won over.

That's fox. All other polls are considerably lower. 40% is rounding up the highest poll. Averages amongst the polls I would suggest are likely to be closer to 30%. And that's extraordinarily generous IMHO. He failed.

I did look into it. Apparently the 37% versus 63% was Fox. The other two mentioned early said 53 to 33, and 54 to 31. Meaning those two had a third option.

37/64 = 0.59

33/53 = 0.62

31/54 = 0.57

Seems all about the same percentage of win to lose, to me.

But there's no examples.

Alleged evidence has been soundly debunked. We are left with hearsay that has been traced back to a single person who has apologised for what she started.

No examples? The lady eating a cat is front page news. The guy with a goose wasnt debunked. They only showed he wasnt in Springfield. They both live in Ohio. I didnt specify only Springfield. There will doubtless be more coming up now that this is a national topic.

Quote

Surely only the minority voters are that gullible. If abortion is considered low importance of like to think a laughable ct is of negligible importance.

It has given many a good laugh and will for some time though. I suspected Trump's mouth to ruin his performance but he exceeded all expectations.

Well, the same rhetoric has taken the Right into power in Denmark, Netherlands, Poland, and now Germany. And almost in France...

Its highly effective. People believe what they want to hear. If people have financial issues and dont want to blame themselves... foreigners are an easy target.

Quote

Not him. Maga. But speaking of him, how about, him claiming he won the debate? His devoted followers will believe that even thought it's clearly not the case. That's a Jan six tactic right there.

There are those dumb enough to actually believe and support the pet eating nonsense. The sort of brain dead person that believes an election was stolen. And your constitution arms these loonies. They are clearly ready to storm the capitol again but I expect they would be more heavily armed this time.

He's just the idiot that points these geese in a direction when his plans fail. Then laughs as they do time for him.

Lets all hope it doesn't come to that. I suspect this election will be different, as he's not sitting in the White House.

And if it does appear significant numbers of his followers show up at the Capital, I very much doubt the same mistakes (no national guard, no extra police) will be repeated. If anything, I think security will be way overboard anyway, just in case.

Before Joe dropped out, she was in the high 30s of favorability, with many saying she was bullying, and generally hard to work with.

She's liked now as she is the only chance Democrats have of beating Trump, and everything else is secondary.

Everybody saw the debate or at least enough to know abortion was a flame point.

After the Roe Vs Wade shambles, it's very much common knowledge. Maga people don't appear to think much. They rattle the same dumb lines and post the same dumb memes. They won't see abortion as an issue until Trump mentions it and then it will be the most important topic. Until that time it will be about 1980 grocery prices and fuel in America whilst ignoring the entire globe.

Yes no examples.

I hadn't heard about the cat eating lady till you mentioned it. Googling it I find:

Fact check: Ohio woman accused of eating cat is from Canton, not from Springfield

Allexis T. Ferrell was charged with cruelty to companion animals, a fifth-degree felony, and Stark County court records show she has faced other charges since 2017, including theft and misuse of credit cards and endangering children.

“Ferrell was first arrested in Canton in 2011,” Canton police spokesman Lt. Dennis Garren wrote in an email on Tuesday. “We have no reason to believe that she is not a U.S. citizen.”

She's not from Springfield, the charges were laid before the debate and she appears to be an American citizen, not Haitian.

And the goose was most certainly debunked straight away.

Another piece of purported evidence for the claim of widespread Haitian goose-killing in Springfield concerned a single image of a Black man carrying a dead Canada goose:

Like the bodycam footage used as evidence for Haitian cat killing, however, this image does not come from Springfield. The photo can be found in a Reddit thread about Columbus, Ohio, and it was posted at least one month earlier than these viral claims. There is no evidence that this individual had any connection to Haiti.

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/cats-ducks-haitians-springfield/

Cat lady also debunked at that link.

That's simply racial persecution. All thanks to Trump and co.

Jan six part two in the making.

Yeah but they aren't laughing at the dumbest comments are they. Kamala doesn't have a version of Loomer in tow.

Kamala said she would earn the nomination and she has. Nobody can deny that she has turned an election around that after the Biden debate was his to lose.

Personally I don't see how it's not very impressive as to how she has turned the people and her support around. It's an impressive effort. As you piny out, she started from way back in the pack and she worked her way to the top.

Well. Ive said Joe dropping was the best decision made this election. She certainly picked up the torch and ran with it. And apparently has got good people giving her good advise, and good policy, and good coaching. Good for Democrats anyway.

Who does she have working for her? IDK... Trump's advisors get the microscope, but we dont know who's even advising Harris. Probably better for her we dont know.

You can believe Harris has powers to influence people about deep held beliefs, but that doesnt make it true.

She only has to provide enough facts for people to question enough to seek out answers themselves.

Trump's idiotic claims about post birth abortions are easily seen as lies right up front. Few people are actually that stupid. And from that we can see Kamala is more accurate with facts than Donald.

Education is the first step. If people blindly believed abortion is fine without considering the issue carefully, then that's just as bad imo. Right side of the fence, wrong way to get there.

I knew there was a link explaining goose man. Just had to find it. Here you go, no geese were eaten.

The Ohio Division of Wildlife told TMZ that the man was picking up the two geese that had been hit by a car in Columbus, which is about 45 minutes from Springfield, where Trump had previously claimed that migrants were chowing down on the birds.

To be honest, I had no idea who she was (Loomer) till I read some articles after the debate. I dont believe she been what would be called, even now, a mainstram GOP.

Dunn... Reading her Wikipedia page. Seems Harris made a good choice in that pick.

Maga to the core.

I can't imagine what Trump sees there. She's a liability.

Yes, Kamala did well. She's doing this whole thing properly, Trump in the other hand is winging it and that showed in the debate.

Just wanted to ask. What's fuel doing there? It's dropped quite a bit here and I just heard on the news it's likely to continue to drop. Lowest prices ice seen in a long time. Years I would say.

France fought the threat off. I'd like to hear from posters from those regions like @Noteverythingisaconspiracy could from a first hand account.

I usually prefer to stay out of political topics.

Well, the same rhetoric has taken the Right into power in Denmark, Netherlands, Poland, and now Germany. And almost in France...

I do find it weird that someone would mention Denmark, Poland and Germany as countries where the right is in power. At present we have a centrist government with a social democrat as prime minister. The last election we have had was this years election for the European Parliament, where the far right got a "whopping" 2 out of 15 seats. Also in Poland the PiS is no longer in power and the German chancellor is a social democrat.
