+susieice Posted December 4, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2022 (edited) St Edward's Crown has been removed from the Tower for resizing before the coronation of King Charles III on May 6th. It's movement was kept secret until it arrived safely at an undisclosed destination. This crown was made for the coronation of King Charles II in 1661 to replace the one destroyed after the execution of his father in 1649. Queen Consort Camilla will be crowned alongside King Charles in the coronation ceremony. The ceremony will be changed from past ones. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-63847338 Edited December 4, 2022 by susieice 3

Not quite 5 pounds according to Google. Chuck's Mom looked great in it based on the 1953 photo in the article. Look on the bright side. You know how hard it must be to shop for a King's Christmas present. What do you get for the man who has everything? and all that. No problem this year - just get him one of these: By May, he'll be a crown totin' machine.

I'm old fashioned when it comes to Royal headdresses. Edited December 4, 2022 by Wistman
