Eldorado Posted December 7, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2022 Many young people feel totally excluded from the jobs market and are rapidly losing hope, according to a new report. Youth unemployment is ‘chronically high’, with 16% of all 18-24-year-olds (859,000) not in work. Nearly one in 10 young people (227,000) not currently in employment or studying say they never intend to work a day in their life. The findings are based on a survey of 5,000 people commissioned by City and Guilds, a skill-training organisation. It paints a bleak picture in which many feel excluded in a jobs market which can seem hostile or geared against those looking to get a foot on the ladder. Almost a third (30%) of young people stated they don’t think they will ever be able to achieve their career ambitions. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/one-in-10-young-people-say-they-re-never-planning-on-getting-a-job/ar-AA151eTS? 3 Top
jmccr8 Posted December 7, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2022 That’s weird because I always see threads started complaining that there is a shortage of workers. Take what is available so one can earn something while searching for other opportunities. 3 Top

Basically, we have created a generation of lazy drop-outs happy to live on benefits (and/or the bank of mummy and daddy) forever. No doubt whilst complaining about the cost of food due to the fact we can't get people to harvest our crops .... 2 Top

'Goblin mode' gained popularity in 2022 as people across the world emerged from restrictive lockdowns, with some struggling to shake the bad habits - or 'goblin-like' behaviours - they'd picked up throughout the pandemic.
