I saw this on the news earlier, and it seems unclear what caused the explosion — unless it's been clarified since.

CNN says neighbors reported smelling gas the night before the explosion. My thoughts go out to the people who are going through this. There's been several home explosions in my area over the past year. Terrible.

Easy and understandable mistake to make.

That's one heck of an explosion(with a small after-explosion a little to the right?). All the houses around the explosion look very new. I wonder if the flats that blew up were new too.

Emergency services and specialist teams are continuing a search and recovery operation after a huge explosion at a block of flats in Jersey.

Jersey Police said at least five people were known to have died, with at least four still missing. They warned they do not expect to find survivors.
