UM-Bot Posted January 6 #1 Share Posted January 6 The weird world of quantum physics has become weirder still thanks to a new breakthrough by researchers in the US. https://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/news/363004/scientists-discover-new-type-of-quantum-entanglement

MGB Posted January 8 #3 Share Posted January 8 I'm assuming if you had a string 10 trillion miles long, and you pulled on one end, the other end would simultaneously move also. no matter the distance.

What you are assuming is impossible with an ordinary, physical string due to how tension works. When you pull on one end of the string, a force is applied to the string causing it to stretch which creates tension. This tension goes along the length of the string all the way to the end unless something were to stop its motion. The speed at which the tension travels is known as the wave speed which is a finite speed, not an instantaneous one.
Earl.Of.Trumps Posted January 10 #5 Share Posted January 10 (edited) This is the part that especially blows my mind: ,...two entangled particles can remain linked and influence one another instantaneously even if there are billions of light-years of distance between them." oi Maybe science should reconsider the concept of the aether.
