Still Waters Posted January 8, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2023 Researchers believe that ancient stone tools discovered in Brazil are the work of capuchin monkeys, not early humans, the art and design website Artnet reported, citing an academic article. "We are confident that the early archeological sites from Brazil may not be human-derived but may belong to capuchin monkeys," wrote archaeologist Agustín M. Agnolín and paleontologist Federico L. Agnolín in an article published in the peer-reviewed science journal The Holocene in November. The oldest of the stone tools discovered appear to be up to 50,000 years old, according to the article, which led to some academics theorizing that it provided evidence of early human habitation of the region. Unexpected findings from 2016, however, posed a challenge to that theory. https://www.sciencealert.com/monkeys-not-humans-made-ancient-sets-of-stone-tools-in-brazil-study-finds Holocene capuchin-monkey stone tool deposits shed doubts on the human origin of archeological sites from the Pleistocene of Brazil https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/09596836221131707

No, it was MY idea, based on the article I linked to back then. Maybe not that clear, but I suggested that socalled ancient stone tools could have been created by these monkeys instead of humans. Doesn't intill allot of confidence yet, does it?

Of course not. But with knowing monkeys knock rocks together you can't either be sure it were humans who did it. And thàt's the message.
