WVK Posted January 11 #1 Share Posted January 11 IRATE passengers experienced hour-long delays after a system failure forced officials to ground thousands of flights across the US - the worst airspace disaster since the terror attacks of September 2001. The Federal Aviation Administration first reported a system failure overnight on Tuesday and slowly began restoring normal air traffic operations. https://www.the-sun.com/news/7105450/flights-grounded-delayed-faa-system-failure/ Hack fear https://finance.yahoo.com/news/1-white-house-says-no-125802049.html 1 1 Top
+Desertrat56 Posted January 11 #2 Share Posted January 11 (edited) My aunt's OT person said she got up early this morning to take some elderly relatives to the air port and had to bring them back because they were flying to Canada with 3 stops between Albuquerque and their destination. She brought them back to her house so they aren't waiting at the airport for days. Better to ground flights than take chances since all the air traffic controlers are dependent on that system. +susieice Posted January 12 #5 Share Posted January 12 I heard this on the news tonight. Canada also experienced issues with their air hazard notification system. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/canada-s-air-hazard-notification-system-experiences-brief-disruption/ar-AA16erxT 1 Top

Hi Desertrat When my plane landed in Vancouver this morning and while waiting for my connecting flight they were making announcements that planes to the States would leave on time but might have to turn around and come back due to some mumble mumble mumble so didn’t know what had happened until now. 2 Top
Occupational Hubris Posted January 12 #7 Share Posted January 12 (edited) Curropted database. Likely due to aged hardware. If wer eto hazard a guess, this critical system probabaly runs on EOL servers, like most of the crap in our data center does.
