Alabama man secretly helped pay strangers' pharmacy bills for years

A small town in Alabama is honoring a man who paid off his neighbors’ pharmacy bills for years and kept his generosity a secret until shortly before his recent death by picking up exactly where he left off.

Hody Childress, a farmer and US air force veteran, began his anonymous charitable campaign when he walked into a drug store in his home town of Geraldine in 2012 and learned from the owner that sometimes families can’t afford to pay for their medicines.

Yeah... because it's MUCH better to minimize and demean those who choose to do something to help rather than just gripe and moan.  This guy will be remembered, those who just bellyache about the world being "unfair"?  Not so much...

Prophetic words. It takes a strange kind of cat to belittle people helping other people.   I never thought about belittling people in these stories.  They inspire me to help others too.

Um, who is demeaning him?  The man's a hero, and everyone here is honoring him. Why would you even say this?

My response was deleted, but it's quite amazing to see a certain poster complaining about those that "gripe" and " just bellyache about the world being "unfair""
