I have seen men who try to grope any woman, especially women who intimidate them, because it is what they do, disrespect all women. Just looks is not the criteria they use.   And just because you think she is plain doesn't mean that all men are looking at her face, a lot of men don't look at a woman's face.

I do..  an ‘unpleasant’ face suppresses my interest..overall..:P

Same here. Just did not want to be the first to admit it.

In hindsight, I admit to being smitten more than once ,only to ,in turn, face disappointment . :P

Well, my buddy and I whisteled after a really really nice looking lady with long blonde hair in tight blue jeans in the late seventies untill "she" turned around - it was a dude giving us the middle finger. Ahh nothing like Germany in the 70's.

I think you are misunderstanding the motive, and maybe that speaks well of you.  The aim of groping, intimidation and forcing contact is about power, nothing else.  It is not about pleasure given or received but domination.  Looks are not the primary concern for someone who needs the drug of power by forcing their desires on the powerless.

Plus two accusers.

Besides Carroll, two Trump accusers who never sued are set to testify in Carroll’s case.

Jessica Leeds has said Trump grabbed her breasts and tried to put his hand up her skirt when they were seatmates on a flight three decades ago. People magazine writer Natasha Stoynoff has said Trump forcibly kissed her against her will while showing her around his Florida home for a 2005 article.

Well, then I wish the ladies well, and hope that they get the justice they deserve.

Trump is a well known "handsy" kind of guy.

More than that

From the above link:

According to Carroll, she immediately lost interest in dating and desire, then lost her job after she told her story in a 2019 memoir and Trump responded that she was “totally lying.” Elle has said her contract wasn’t renewed for unrelated reasons.

The timing is going to be something hard for Elle to explain I feel.

I still feel that her reasoning here will be hard to prove. She never reported anything, though it ruined her life?? She was an advise lady online/newpapers, and realized her issue, but never sought counseling?

Unless she has stuff written down from that time, or something tangible, it is going to be hard to prove. THOUGH... In civil law you only have to prove that a reasonable person could conclude, which is way less then the criminal requirement of "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt".

Sometimes people don't get married, or don't have successfully relationships, and that is because of them, though they may long for an external excuse. Same with jobs. Sometimes people have a bad attitude, and get fired for letting it affect their work.

She'll need to show that her damages resulted directly from Trump.

Judge Lewis Kaplan called it a day when Tacopina asked about the dress that Carroll wore during the assault, which she kept and never washed. As Carroll’s two lawsuits against Trump played out, Trump refused to provide a sample of his DNA for three years. He changed his mind in February after retaining Tacopina as his lawyer, which Carroll’s lawyers argued was an effort to delay the case further.

In denying Trump’s request, Judge Kaplan found that the dress would neither prove he’d raped Carroll nor exonerate him. No semen was recovered from it, and if Trump was a match for organic matter recovered from it, the judge found, it would only prove he and Carroll had an interaction at some point.

Sounds like a very common sense kind of Judge. I think he's not going to fall for Appeal to Emotion or other fallacious arguments.

Quote

Earlier in her testimony, Tacopina questioned Carroll about an email exchange between her and Martin in 2019. Trump’s lawyer argued in his opening argument that Carroll and her friends hated Trump and schemed to destroy him politically.

In the emails, Martin tells Carroll, “As soon as we’re well enuf [sic] to scheme we must do our patriotic duty again.”

A skeptical Tacopina asked Carroll whether it was true that she couldn’t recall the email conversation from five years ago but could remember telling Martin about the assault around 28 years ago.

“Those are facts that I could never forget. This is an e-mail, among probably hundreds of e-mails between Carol and I, that I have no recollection of, but I suspect it’s something funny. You know, that’s not typical Carol Martin language ‘patriotic duty,’ so I can’t imagine what it is, maybe -- I have no idea,” Carroll said.

So can remember a one off conversation from 28 years ago, but not one from 5 years ago. Certainly possible, but convenient that the one helps her case the more detailed it is, and the other hurts her case if it happened at all.

Both the prosecution and defence, have rested their cases. Summation will be on Monday. There'll be a decision next week, I bet.

I got no idea on the jury leaning, but this is in New York city, where Trump is not well regarded. If things are done "by the book", I think Trump gets off, since it's pretty much a he said/she said case. If emotion, and TDS, comes into it (very likely IMHO) then Trump is found guilty.

I'm not sure what the requested damages are, but I imagine it will be a lot, as Miss Carroll states her life was ruined since 1984. Sexually, financially, emotionally... ruined.

I'll look and see what her requested damages are.

Edit: Guesses are around 2.7 million dollars.

He pretended to not recognize her in that photo…to lend more ‘credibility’ to his claim..that he doesn’t even know her .  Or he really doesn’t know his ass from a hole in his head.

He has been suffering from demetia for years.  I recognized it when he was still president.  It is something you can spot if you have experience with someone close to you.   My aunt has had it for years but just recently was actually diagnosed.  One of the most common signs (not the first sign though) is telling the same story over and over in the same day to the same people.   But there are other signs, temper tantrums, inappropriate comments (that even he should know are inappropriate) etc, that stand out when you watch him.

I'm split on how I think the outcome will go

On one hand it's pretty much he said she said.

On the other hands it's a civil trial not a criminal one. Which means you just need the jury to agree with you. They don't need to agree beyond a "reasonable doubt".

To be fair, these are also symptoms of being a complete idiot. Not that the two are mutually exclusive.

More proof of dementia and someone is taking his money to do what ever he tells them, they are taking advantage of a man who should be in an assisted living home with all the doors locked.

Wasn't Little Finger a character on Game of Thrones?

Well, I know he will appeal and hope never to pay a nickel in his lifetime, but he will raise money to pay it.  T be cold and calculating, that is $83 million that will get siphoned away from his most loyal followers. The Republicans will get less funding for election spending.  Another reason he hates Nikki.   She is a woman who won't roll over for him and is costing him money, kinda like Melania..

I'm wondering how long it will take him until the MAGAs recognize his dementia for what it is.

When he is locked up or dies probably.    If you aren't around someone with dementia it is hard to tell the first few years, but the florida man has been going downhill since at least 2016.   And people who are around him are in it for the money, not what ever cause he claims each hour.   The MAGA people are mostly made up of the same people who send the 700 Club monthly fees, or have stockpiled a lot of guns because they are waiting for Mad Max to give them permission to drive around shooting up everything.
