Three active-duty Marines who work in intelligence – one of whom allegedly espoused support for a second civil war – were arrested this week for breaching the US Capitol building with a mob of Trump supporters on January 6, 2021. Cpl. Micah Coomer and Sgts. Joshua Abate and Dodge Dale Hellonen are facing several charges, including disorderly conduct in a Capitol building.

FBI agents first became aware of Coomer because he posted pictures of himself inside the Capitol building on Instagram, according to a federal affidavit. As agents investigated his account, they discovered messages he wrote to a separate user that he was waiting for a second civil war. A Marine Corps spokesperson said in a statement to CNN Friday that it is “aware of an investigation and the allegations” and is “fully cooperating with appropriate authorities in support of the investigation.”

Participate in a riot... You risk getting arrested. Trespass into the Capital, you risk getting arrested.

Simple as that.

Each and everyone a testament to Trump's divisive politics. He could talk pidgeons from the trees only to stomp on them as they land. Pidgeons/trumpers.

Well I don’t think you understand how this will work for them. First they will tried by the civilian authorities, and then they will be Court Marshaled and given a bad conduct discharge and most likely prison Time. I hope they crucify them, I can five almost crimes, except for Child Abuse, Rape, and Insurrection.

I generally have a zero tolerance for any kind of crime. I recognize that we don't need everyone in prison, but I'd fine the crap out of most minor crimes. Community service if you can't pay. If you fail at the fine and community service, then off to jail.

The pictures of these guys looks like theyre barely old enough to shave. It's too bad they've ruined their lives for the short term.

As Marines they should have been more reserved, IMHO.

Well, I disagree that we don’t need anyone in Prisons. Because, those who commit the most horrendous and horrific crimes technically are not always insane , so mental care facilities can’t be used to help change their proclivities. So, there must be a place were they can be placed and punished for their deviance. In many cases this abnormal deviance begins during the first five years of life, it can be the result of injury or genetic disorder to the frontal cortex of the brain, which effectively prevents the individual from experiencing Empathy which is the base for our emotional well being. However, not everyone who lacks empathy is a danger to society, there are unknown factors that trigger deviant behaviors. However, once aggression and domination is used against their fellow humans, there is no going back and these people must be permanently incarcerated, because there is no effective treatment for deviant proclivities.

With, this in mind Prisons are a necessary fact of life today maybe in the future there will advances that can change that.

Well, they must be 18 years old to have joined the military on their own, or 17 years old with parental consent. Well, as US military personnel they knew what the consequences of their actions would be if implicated, so I have no sympathy for them in this situation and I would have recommended the max punishment allowed by the UCMJ or Uniformed Code of Military Justice. It’s, just like the female ex-military individual who was shot and killed for trying to break-in to that area where members of Congress were being protected. She got what she deserved, I have no sympathy for her, she like the others took an oath that states they would defend the Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic. Well all four of them violated their oaths to some degree, not to mention they all were aware what consequences their actions would bring upon them.

So, like I have said many times in the past TO BAD, SO SAD BECAUSE IF ONE COMMITS THE CRIME THAY MUST BE PREPARED TO DO THE TIME!!
