So Orion is a bird?

I connected the dots occasionally when I was a child and teenager.

The problem with these dots is that they are not numbered. Since no-one wrote down what they are supposed to show, it is anyone's guess.

A troop of elephants? A garden shed? A hypodermic needle? A rose bush?

So ancient people saw their mythological figures and items in star formations. What's new?

To my father's people the bucket of the Big Dipper is the pot that catches souls and is known as Corpse Catcher.

Yeah: a Bull and a dead Orion. Don't know about the bird on a stick, though.

Yes, a Bull facing Orion…even his eye is distinctly glaring at Orion, as they say Taurus eye does.

The bird on a stick, placed conspicuously where Sirius would be. OK, this was the hurdle.

But I found a good reference.

To Polynesians, Sirius is a Bird, named Manu.

“Sirius served as the body of a "Great Bird" constellation called Manu, with Canopus as the southern wingtip and Procyon the northern wingtip, which divided the Polynesian night sky into two hemispheres”

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirius

No Orion is the bird headed man. The bird on the staff is Sirius.

Orion is a saucepan here…lol

Thats the point. He’s not always been an archer/hunter nor Sirius a dog.

You call that a good reference? It's on the other side of the planet!

So they came from France, travelled to Taiwan, and then to Polynesia. Right.

My ancestors and all mythology associated with them comes from the other side of the world too…like most Australians and Americans. You’re lucky your heritage has probably always stayed or been in Holland.
In the same timeframe, last few hundred years.

The point is, the ancestors of Polynesians were not confined to the islands, they got there and bought their ancient knowledge with them.

It was simply showing how the bird on the staff could be Sirius…as you didn’t know what connection it could have with a bird.

Wrong, didn’t have anything to do with France.

The Austronesian Urheimat was Formosa, Tawain. Then they spread to the continent later.

This is true. I never said they did, to be clear.

What continent? Asia? Or Polynesia? Who were they before Taiwan.

Indigenous people from Australia can be traced back to the Denisovan time,

Time is irrelevant. The Polynesians might worship Sirius as a known mythology from 18,000BC, as a bird.

So why is it such a conundrum he was depicted on the cave art…do you think this cave art is Taurus, Orion and Sirius?

Somewhere in Southeast Asia before they spoke the language. The South Asian Homo Erectus probably were Denisovans but DNA doesn't stand up in warm climes.

As for Denisovans, I have their genes. As for the ancestors of Austronesians, we can only guess what they worshiped.

Would you clarify this segment please because as written it’s a mashup.

Through Native Americans? I don’t doubt it.

A 2011 study found that Denisovan DNA is prevalent in Aboriginal Australians, Near Oceanians, Polynesians,”

Like like the Polynesians and even our indigenous people I mentioned. It’s ages old.
