Still Waters Posted February 6 #1 Share Posted February 6 (IP: Staff) · The headteacher of a prestigious private school in Surrey has been found dead alongside her husband and daughter. Emma Pattison, the head of Epsom College, was found at the school along with her husband, George, 39, and seven-year-old Lettie on Sunday morning. The 45-year-old had only joined the school this academic year in September. She had previously been head at Croydon High school for six years. Epsom College was awarded “Independent School of the Year” in October 2022. An investigation is under way, but Surrey police said that they believed it was an isolated incident and that there is no third-party involvement. They were called to the £42,000-a-year school at 1am on Sunday. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/feb/05/head-of-epsom-college-found-dead-at-school-alongside-husband-and-daughter 2 Top
+Desertrat56 Posted February 6 #2 Share Posted February 6 But how did they die? Did one kill the other two and then suicide? Or was it poison or what? This story is very short on details. If it was an "isolated" incident why don't they give more details? 2 Top

They probably don't want to give more details away until after their investigation. The BBC article says the same thing: Quote "I want to give my assurance that we will conduct a thorough investigation into what took place... and hope to be able to bring some peace in these traumatic circumstances. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-64533429 1 Top

Still Waters Posted February 7 Author #6 Share Posted February 7 (IP: Staff) · The head teacher of Epsom College was shot dead by her husband, before he killed their daughter and took his own life with the same gun, police believe. George Pattison, who had a gun licence, is believed to have killed Emma Pattison and seven-year-old Lettie at the family home in school grounds. Mrs Pattison made a distressed call to a family member some time late on Saturday evening, the BBC understands. By the time the relative arrived, all three were dead. Police said an investigation was being carried out to establish the full chronology and circumstances of the incident. They confirmed a firearm, licensed and registered to Mr Pattison, was found at the scene and has been recovered by officers. However, causes of death will not be confirmed until post-mortem examinations have been completed later this week. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-surrey-64544884 1 Top
