A Foodworks owner in Victoria has turned the tables on a group of bumbling thieves, sending them scampering after copping an unpleasant and unexpected surprise.

THAT system is genius!  American companies need to emulate it!  With that system, no store employees would need to intervene at all :w00t:

Couldn't use it here. Fire code would preclude that. I suppose the AHJ could give a variance to allow heat detectors instead of smoke detectors in an area but that would be a case by case application.

The liability that the system could incur would not be worth it. I seriously doubt an insurance company would touch it.
