pellinore Posted Saturday at 08:59 AM #1 Share Posted Saturday at 08:59 AM (edited) The irony and hypocrisy is breathtaking, considering the government has closed the doors to EU workers. Apparently the UK has no problem with Indian and Asian care workers : Speaking to the Care England conference, at Church House in Westminster, on Thursday, she said that she has been working with the Home Office, which relaxed visa rules for foreign care workers during the pandemic, “to facilitate more international recruitment”. “I’ve heard from some providers that they find it difficult to recruit internationally,” she said. “But I’ve also heard some really positive stories about how international recruitment has been used really successfully [bringing] some fantastic workers to come and work in the UK and it’s really helping to fill some of those gaps in the workforce. “So I would say to all of you here to spread the word to make use of this opportunity to bring people to the UK who want to work in social care, and to give it a go. And for those who’ve done it successfully, please share your advice with others you speak to at this conference. Care homes should give hiring foreign workers a go, says minister (archive.is) Edited Saturday at 09:03 AM by pellinore
