Who said they used campaign money? Did Trump admit to that?

From what I remember Cohen paid her, and Trump paid him. None of that money came from a campaign fund, or donation. Cohen pled guilty because HE intended the payments to influence the election. Good Luck getting Trump to agree that's why he paid Cohen.

So not campaign money. It was election influencing that was the reason for the charge.

FYI, accusing others of shaming is the very lowest of arguments. You might just as well have started throwing out "Hitler", and "Nazis", in your argument.

That the entire point

"

Cohen paid porn actress Stormy Daniels $130,000 through a shell company Cohen set up. He was then reimbursed by Trump, whose company logged the reimbursements as legal expenses.

Earlier in 2016, Cohen also arranged for former Playboy model Karen McDougal to be paid $150,000 by the publisher of the supermarket tabloid the National Enquirer, which squelched her story in a journalistically dubious practice known as “catch-and-kill.”

Trump’s company, the Trump Organization, “grossed up” Cohen’s reimbursement for the Daniels payment for “tax purposes,” according to federal prosecutors who filed criminal charges against the lawyer in connection with the payments in 2018.

Cohen got $360,000 plus a $60,000 bonus, for a total of $420,000.

Cohen pleaded guilty to violating federal campaign finance law in connection with the payments. Federal prosecutors say the payments amounted to illegal, unreported assistance to Trump’s campaign. But they declined to file charges against Trump himself.

Cohen was on the line for millions on tax fraud. He took that charge as a plea to avoid even more time then 3 years. He could have done 10 or 20 years.

The Mueller Investigation needed a win. This was their jab at Trump. It was much discussed at the time, and well understood by people following the story.

Politics, not justice.

None of that money came from a contribution, or government matching funds. The charge was contrived and Cohen copped to it to get less time.

FYI, paying someone to not talk about an affair isn't illegal. At least AFAIK. If it is, please post the law here.

What was deemed illegal was intending to gain political advantage by not allowing the story to get out. Which it did anyway.

I never said paying her for an affair was illegal. However, "Federal prosecutors say the payments amounted to illegal, unreported assistance to Trump’s campaign. "

illegal is still illegal, even if the scheme didn;t go in trumpos favor

Posted you the facts. Not my fault you didn't follow this story going back 3 years, and don't like the facts.

I've seen enough Federal cases to realize this will be either a 1) hard sell to a liberal judge. Or, a very, very hard sell to a conservative judge.

The several liberal sources posted in the thread admit it will be a hard sell. Most Experts seem to agree with me, is all I'm saying.

cool story.

You can see Cohen had an ax to grind. Trump tossed him under the bus. He had motive to implicate Trump for revenge.

https://www.courthousenews.com/sentencing-imminent-for-ex-trump-attorney-michael-cohen/

Mueller created that charge out of pure fluff and Cohen took it to get less time and hurt Trump.

Note: All the evidence of Trump and Cohen colluding comes from Cohen alone. A man whom HATES Trump and has stated he'd do whatever it takes to get him back.

Sounds like a bias and hostile witness. Without that witness the case collapses.

So far Cohen has not testified for the NY DA.

The case is about it violating campaign finance laws. That is a fact. I didn't make it up. I'm not an lawyer, nor do i have any futher involment. I've made no comment on the what kind of sell it will be, nor do i care.

That's true too.

You seem to care. You've posted a dozen times.

I originally replied because you said "Campaign money". Specifically suggesting campaign funds were used.

I warned the FBI, but they’re so arrogant they can’t see the new power Trump will likely, soon wield. They don’t understand the significance of this.

Trump doesn’t need to use any form of violence, at this juncture. Instead, he is starting his 2023 campaign in Waco, TX to put down his marker.

I don’t support Trump, but this is a smart move.

Waco is the biggest mistake that the FBI ever made, and they have a lot of innocent blood on their hands there. The reason is simple, they could have easily arrested David Koresh on any number of occasions, when he was away from that compound, but the FBI chose the wrong, arrogant path.

By placing his marker at Waco, Donald Trump is signaling that he can destroy the FBI, exactly as I have foreseen. Thus, he may be setting the stage for a new kind of conflict, on Earth.

I'm imagining him peeking out the window and asking if ALL the reporters are there yet. Then after they cuff him, in the front, he raises his hands above his head and makes a short speech. He'll be a martyr to many.

I'd forgotten. Hitler's 5 year sentence for anarchy (he only served 8 months) helped him galvanise his supporter base (it also gave him time to write a best-seller!).

I want to see that orange hair in an orange jump suit, at least for the mug shot. I wonder what the odds are that we’ll see that ….?

Not that I've seen. Gotta say, this is the first time in 7 years I've heard Trump be the one to say he's going down.

I see that too. Go to Waco and trash the politicized FBI hoping to stir incitement. No reason he would go there to weep for the dead, simply a trash the FBI event which his simpletons will see as a call to arms.

See how the man calls these black prosecutors "racist?" That is him alerting all his racist followers these are black people "persecuting" him. Not hard to see through the man.

That's incredible intuition you have there. How come as a Trump supporter I never pick up on these secret messages? Only the zaniest (Buffalo man) on the right and the entirety of the left half of our country are capable of hearing these dog whistles. I do have tinnitus in one ear but I don't think that's it. You should be a code cracker.

…. Best laugh of the day, so far.

Trump is a master of intrigue, not integrity.

I realize that. I don't really know what to make of it all. Just watching things unfold as we all are.

Because you are willfully blind. Just watch what he says at Waco. "Decades ago we had a corrupt and politicized DOJ and FBI, and today nothing has changed." Something along those lines. He is going there to sow doubt, but regardless, you will lap up every word he says. And speaking of these racist prosecutors as he calls them, have you seen them commit acts of racism against Trump?

 They would have gotten those pictures perfect if they had made Trump much taller. So those fail. I have seen Trump in person on stage from far off and most people know that Trump is a tall man over 6 ft.

So Trump having (another) affair covered up was unreported, illegal assistance to a political campaign, I can see that.
Is the media repeating the “nothing to see here …” line from the FBI about “totally not Hunter’s laptop” right around election time also illegal assistance to a campaign?
Or Hilary belittling the women accusing Bill of affairs?

What Trump, et al, named the October Surprise was announced by The Media less than a month before the Presidential Election.
