China's Xi to visit Russia

Putin to welcome China's Xi to Moscow at critical moment

''LONDON (Reuters) - Three days after being accused by an international tribunal of war crimes in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin will be looking more than ever for a show of solidarity from his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping when he welcomes him to Moscow on Monday.

Xi will be the first world leader to shake Putin's hand since the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for the Russian leader on Friday over the deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia since the start of the war.

Russia will present Xi's trip - his first since securing an unprecedented third term this month - as evidence that it has a powerful friend prepared to stand with it against a hostile West that it says is trying in vain to isolate and defeat it.''

It's interesting how the 5 most populous countries China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and the USA do not recognize the International Criminal Court.  It makes one wonder how International it really is.

It’s very international, but what people fail to realize is the NATO has its own War Crimes Tribunal and the United States supports this War Crime Tribunal.

China knows it is in great danger regarding heavy worldwide sanctions against it if it does business with Russia.  They will need to collude very cleverly to avoid detection.

Russia and China want to disrupt the world order, NSC spokesperson says

''Russia and China are attempting to shake up the international order, National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said Sunday.

China and Russia, Kirby said on “Fox News Sunday,” “are two countries that are chafing against this international rules-based order that the United States and so many of our allies and partners have built up, since the end of World War II.”

He added: “They’d like to rewrite the rules of the game globally.”

Sure appears that way.  Add in BRICS, China/Russian ongoing cooperation in Africa and Iran with new relations with middle eastern countries everything is changing fast.  Makes one wonder how in the heck western nations are going to convince their own people to take the so-called Climate emergency seriously when it's only the western world actually cutting back on using petroleum products.

Which raises a question: Do you declare War on nations who won't cut back on burning fossil fuels?

I have no idea but wouldn't put it past them to declare War.  Since Covid the world has all gone completely crazy.

Putin to Xi: We will discuss your plan to end the war in Ukraine

Vladimir Putin has said he will discuss Xi Jinping's 12-point plan to "settle the acute crisis in Ukraine", during a highly anticipated visit to Moscow by the Chinese president.

"We're always open for a negotiation process," Mr Putin said, as the leaders called each other "dear friend".

China released a plan to end the war last month - it includes "ceasing hostilities" and resuming peace talks.

But on Friday the US warned the peace plan could be a "stalling tactic".

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said: "The world should not be fooled by any tactical move by Russia, supported by China or any other country, to freeze the war on its own terms."

He added: "Calling for a ceasefire that does not include the removal of Russian forces from Ukrainian territory would effectively be supporting the ratification of Russian conquest."

China's plan did not specifically say that Russia must withdraw from Ukraine - which Ukraine has insisted as a precondition for any talks.

Are we going toward a multipolar world?

As has always been the way, yes.
There was always “the Empire” and “the other” (oft another Empire). The British Empire had France. France, in turn had Britain.
Rome was perpetually best by enemies, even if they had to damn well go and make them themselves.
The USA had the USSR.
And now Team America has BRICS.

Yes, a great opportunity for China to pull back some advantages from Russia.  Russia will be the colony supplying raw materials and China will be the manufacturing and marketing center to the world.  China needs the West as a market because Russia does not have the GDP to be a good customer for a powerhouse like China wants to remain.  Of course Xi has his own problems, its not all smooth sailing for China.

That Kirby, he's brilliant, isn't he?  Anyone paying ANY ATTENTION at all to world news could say as much.  Biden's admin put the final nail in the US coffin when they pushed SA to effectively end the petrodollar.  It's all downhill from here, boys and girls.  The banking charade will likely cascade to a point where the people are begging for relief and it will come in the form of the CBDC.

Cost and health.  Did you dad ever go around turning off lights and yelling at the kids that electricity costs money?   He was not dealing with a climate emergency, just what came out of his paycheck.    As technology makes alternatives cheaper people will migrate to them in the high tech societies than can afford to do so.   It is not very likely that we will avert the climate crisis "so-called", but some of us will still be able to afford food, air conditioning, and air filters.   No need to start a war over it.

Only the right has gone crazy since covid.

Sort of.  All China needs from Russia is raw materials.  Russia has nothing else to contribute; except a land route to European trade. Otherwise, they are backward barbarians from China's point of view.

Biden has done more to destroy U.S. hegemony than those two ****-up’s China and Russia.

By weaponising financial sanctions, less democratic governments (that would be the majority of the world) are looking at Russia and  asking themselves why they should continue subscribing to the U.S. dollar and U.S. - western finance when they could be next. China will be the big winner by default now that the west has pushed the third world into China’s and Russia’s pathetic embrace.

Adds a bit of balance (and sanity).

The Japanese leader, the first to visit a warzone since World War Two, will meet President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Ukrainian capital in a summit that directly coincides with longtime rivals holding crunch talks in Moscow.

Mr Kishida will show his “absolute rejection of Russia’s one-sided change to the status quo by invasion and force,” during his visit to Ukraine, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said in announcing his trip to Kyiv.

Russia has a strong technological base and resources and land. after this war they’ll be very much in demand as military counterweights to American and European influence. Especially in Africa and the Middle East

It was great how Putin could be in Moscow talking to Xi while he was also in Mariupol and Crimea at the same time.  The real Putin is likely already dead.  That's the way it went down during succession in Feudal Japan.  Still, an obviously stupid error from the puppet masters of the Kremlin, to parade their fake Putins around in so many places on the same day.  It's like they were hacked or something.  I wonder which fake Putin will be indicted for war crimes?

According to the timeline, Putin was in Crimea early on saturday for a brief visit. He then flew in a helicopter to Mariupol late on saturday night. Xi Jinping landed in Moscow on monday.

How is he everywhere at the same time?

China appears to have a much more robust technological base than Russia appears to these days.  They have a great basket of raw materials.  Russian territory immensity is as much a hinderance to development as  a benefit.  It is hard to defend a 3000 mile steppe with no natural barriers as the Mongols demonstrated.

Russia's economy is smaller than Italy's.  China needs bigger customers, they still need the West as customers at least for the next decade or two.

We are going to have conflict and struggle, but if we work towards a future instead of repeating the past, we might resolve conflict without war.

There are always foot draggers, but maybe humanity is ready for an end to threats and invasions, that would include US past behavior.

Hi UT

China has for years been replanting forests in Russia so they can continue to by wood from Russia. It China did not do this Russia would just rape it’s forests into nothing, can’t really say that they think about how they will maintain markets without proper management which would seem to be China.

Maybe Russian citizens would prefer Chinese communist rule over their own. When Russia collapses China will move in.

Putin: China plan could end war, but Ukraine and West not ready for peace

''China's peace plan for Ukraine could be used as a basis to end the war, Vladimir Putin has said.

But Mr Putin said the plan could be put forward only when they are ready "in the West and Kyiv".

The Russian leader met Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday in Moscow to discuss the conflict, and relations between the two countries.

China's plan, published last month, does not explicitly call for Russia to leave Ukraine.''

I’m asking why is China entering the ‘peacemaker’ roll at this point - Where we’re they 14 months ago?

A point where this war has started a world economic meltdown and a serious world realignment where America is losing influence and friends over underestimating Russia. China has achieved their aims, that’s why

Italian Prime Minister stated today that conditions are almost there for peace but not quite and Media Tart Zelensky is as quiet as a mouse.

A cease fire is imminent and Cold War to follow

Well Japan wants it Russian occupied islands back? Nothing short of a complete dissolution of the Russian federation is needed. so it has skin in this game.

I expect Japan is being prepped for rebuilding aid and investment
