Unlike the UK, the EU is proposing to ALLOW sales of IC cars after 2030.

A draft proposal from the European Commission - reportedly seen by Reuters on Tuesday - will allow sales of new cars with internal combustion engines that run only on climate neutral e-fuels.

Just last month, the European Parliament formally approved a law to effectively ban the sale of any new car with a combustion engine - including petrol, diesel and hybrid models - in the European Union from 2035. 

However, in an attempt to resolve a spat with Germany over the EU's phasing out of combustion engine cars, a new stipulation could allow these models to remain in showroom if they run purely on carbon-neutral fuels.

But...but...what about the impending climate catastrophe...

Don't these damn fools realize that they've stolen Gretas dreams & childhood. 

(Having said that, if the west keeps poking Putin the way they are at the moment, I think a 1 degree rise in temperature over the next 100 years will be the least we can expect. It'll be nearer 1000 degrees.)
