Prince Harry may be barred from US due to his admitting drug use

Prince Harry's admission of drug taking could threaten his US visa, an American lawyer has warned as he insisted there was 'no exception for royalty'.

The Duke of Sussex revealed in his bombshell memoir 'Spare' and TV interviews that he had taken cocaine, cannabis and magic mushrooms in the past.

MailOnline yesterday told how the Duke is now facing calls for his US visa application to be released to see whether he admitted his drug use before emigrating to California with Meghan Markle in 2020.

I think it is easier to bar a non-national than deport someone of joint nationality. With regard to Harry and Megs, it would be a bit ironic if, after all they have done to promote global love and acceptance, they found themselves unwelcome both sides of the Atlantic.

If they can't show he's using now how can they deport him?

Good question. He hasn't been convicted of a crime either. But:

3. Can I be deported for using drugs?

Yes. Non U.S.-citizens who abuse drugs or are addicted to a controlled substance are deportable – even if they have not been convicted of a drug crime.

And any alien who commits — or attempts or conspires to commit – a drug crime (other than a single offense of simple possession of 30 grams or less of marijuana for personal use) is deportable whether or not that person uses or abuses drugs.[5].

I imagine it might be argued that since he is a media figure who advocates illicit drug use for stress, he might be subject to stricter scrutiny than most.

They should deport just for saying he cried when his brother broke his necklace and he lost his virginity at a Pony Club meet.

Wow,...perhaps the UK Government should take notes, seems we can't deport anybody.

In their zeal to capture and hold the spotlight, and make a lot of money, H & M completely forgot about legality and Harry's US visa status.

I call that:   greedy stupid.

A spotlight they claimed they didn't want. All they do is court the American media.

Anybody who thinks we brown folks are second class citizens just has to watch Disney or Nicklodeon.

Anybody can rise above. I've done it twice.
