US Department of Defense Press Office: We have seen no reason to adjust our strategic nuclear posture and we have seen no indication that Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons.

White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator: The United States has seen no indication that Russia intends to use nuclear weapons or other weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Ukraine.

A day or two later:

Russia fired a hypersonic missile

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the country's naval forces fired anti-ship hypersonic missiles at a test target in the Sea of Japan.

Now is the right time, after the visit of the Chinese president to Moscow, to try to establish a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine and start peace talks.

I hope ....

Putin will never surrender the Crimea or a bare minimum of land in the east that provides a land bridge to Crimea unless his military is totally defeated.  Ukraine cannot do that without NATO joining the fight.  This war will either escalate or it will end with painful negotiations.

If weapon delivery (tanks, aircrafts, munition) to Israel back in 1973 (Yom Kippur War) would had same pace Ukrianians get weapons in this war, Israel most likely would not exist today.

Yes keep that in mind.  Its a lesson for all of us.   It never works for freedom loving citizens to fight a powerful and tyrannical government.   If these people get away with opposing the Russian government, that sets an example for others.  We can't have that.  Patriotic citizens, its time to surrender your guns and refrain from anti-government  words and actions.:devil:

I heard somewhere China was afraid to attack our country because everyone and their grandmother had guns. I think the way they put it was a gun behind every blade of grass.

Hi Michelle

Americans are afraid of Americans because they have so many guns, that is why Americans buy guns.

If you had a wife that picked up supplies and made deliveries to the areas of town I do you'd probably want her to have one too. It's not the guns I'm afraid of. There are worse things than getting shot.

Hi Michelle

I don’t have a wife but when I did I wouldn’t have owned a firearm given she tried to stab me a couple of times and did once not to mention she tried running over me with my van. Pretty sure she could take care of herself.

Let me know when three big men yank her out of the car, try to drag her into a vacant house to gang rape her how she does.

Hi Michelle

Have been single for 40 years so long passed worrying about what she does. I will not physically fight with a women nor do I endings in stupid arguments with them. If a person man or woman cannot express their thoughts/concerns productively I usually get on my bike get in the car and go for a drive or take a long walk after telling them to collect their thoughts while I am gone to let them cool off. If they are still in the same state when I get back and start in again then I walk away and don’t look back. I am single for a reason and that is my home is where I come to repair myself after work and don’t tolerate violence in my home.

Hi Michelle, that is why I wrote that sarcastic post.  Ukraine was a corrupt government under a Russian backed regime.  That is when the whole Hunter Biden episode with Burisma started.  The Ukrainian people elected a  new government running on the end of corruption.  Then Putin resorted to more direct means to take over Ukraine.  Ukrainian people are fighting for their freedom and I think they are inspirational to all people who love freedom.  Russia is opposed to them.  China is opposed to them, Iran is opposed to Ukraine.  Sometime you learn a lot about somebody by who their enemies are.  I would think most Americans would naturally sympathize with people fighting against corruption and in favor of freedom.  I am surprised when they take Russia's side like they have already drunk the kool aid. Russia is supplying.

But there is a lesson there.  Russia tried to do it through political means first.  Both Russia and China have been using the same tactics. of social manipulation on us.

We are having these TikTok hearings now a little late, but they are not the only security risk.  Facebook, Twitter, and Google have also sourced user information.  Even a Republican Senate committee agreed with the evidence that Russia had been using Facebook for propaganda goals.

This is not about a political candidate. It is about our safety as a nation.  Russia and China don't need to invade us if they can turn us into a dysfunctional distrustful society hell bent on exterminating ourselves.

The problem for me is not that you need a firearm, I believe you when you say you do.  It is that we are already so truly divided and hateful, we have  created reasons to fragment into subgroups incapable of  maintaining our democracy for another generation.  And all it takes is pouring a little more Iranian gasoline on the fire every time there is an  incident to assure that the  next incident will be bigger and uglier.  We will be killing each other way before anybody else takes a shot.

To be honest UM is the most volatile and divided place I expose myself to besides the news. I don't see it in every day life. People don't openly call Democrats or Republicans the names they are called here. Trump and Biden aren't brought up in every conversation. I have gay, Christian, Democrat, Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Haitian, Syrian and Indian neighbors. at out shop and at home, and we all get along famously. Jump to help if any problem arises. The whole neighborhood watches out for everybody's kids who play in our yard a lot even though we don't have any.

If everyone treated everyone else around them kindly, including behind the screen of your computer, I think you'd see a difference. People actually do pass it on. But they can pass on negativity too. You just have to choose.

I’d have thought the Messiah might have had more in their power than “hope”, as important as it is.

Peace is easy peasy -

Russia can FO and go home.  Nothing else should be acceptable.

Then we use all seized assets to fund rebuilding of Ukraine.

Seems like most of the world understands this except for the psychotic bunker dwarf.

Nibs
