Antarctica Allegedly Has a Giant Prehistoric Cryptid Spider That’ll Spawn Nightmares

A Reddit user who claimed their father was stationed at a base in Antarctica in the 1990s responded with wild stories that there are strict restriction zones all over the southern pole. The user's father, who was reportedly the only doctor at the base, revealed that he had to perform pathology on deceased individuals and discovered that a significant number of deaths appeared to be caused by attacks from unknown creatures. Allegedly, the doctor was ordered to report the cause of deaths as hypothermia.

The Reddit user's father referred to these creatures as "striders" and described them as giant spiders the size of greyhound dogs with five spindly legs. He claimed that these cryptid apex predators were discovered in the ice and were somehow reanimated, but they turned on the team and escaped. The creatures were said to be living in the restricted no-go zones of Antarctica.

It wasn't a Reddit user, it's weird to watch the evolution of this story as its evolved over time. Linda Moulton Howe relayed this story and then I just watched it recently in an UFO documentary on Amazon Prime. When I heard the "original" source of the story there were no pics and now there are, which says photoshopped to add credence comes to mind.

I don't disagree I'm just saying that the story predates the origin of the photos which kinda says someone photoshopped based on the story. And since I had just seen this ufo "documentary" recently I noted it. I used to listen to her years ago on Art Bells Coast to Coast AM and while it's a lot of made up stuff it was fun then.

She took a scifi story about a race called the Eben and insisted it was real. She still insists they are our intergalactic allies.
