Alternative suggestion:

"Yes I know", her friend answered, "my bad!". He took out a device the size of a cell phone. "Initiating Phoenix Protocol."

Story so far...

Quote

Once upon a time there was a young boy
who thought no one understood him.
He had a hard time making friends
so would spend his days kicking rocks along the train tracks
And play in the woods.
His favourite game was picking up pine cones off the forest floor
And making forts.
for his toy soldiers
One day, while out walking and collecting cones, he came upon a most unusual sight.
A big old wooden cabin.
It hadn't been there before.
Why had he never seen this cabin before?  He had walked these woods a hundred times and never seen it.  Who built this cabin and when?  The questions circled his mind as curiosity got the better of him and he decided to explore the structure.  Upon entering, he was surprised to notice that the cabin…..
Had been abandoned. Yet there was furniture left behind and strangely the utilities still worked. There were lights on in the living room and a tv was on.
A faint sound caught his ears. It sounded electronic and came from what seemed to be a basement entry.
So he decided to explore the basement and proceeded down the steps.
What he discovered as he descended those steps completely amazed him.  He had never seen such a thing before.  The entire basement beneath this abandoned cabin was filled with what looked like extremely advanced technology.
He noticed an odd looking chair that had a bunch of knobs so he proceeded to sit down.
A female computer voice said: To proceed, please set your destination.
He said I would like to visit my old childhood.
The voice replied: Audio input not supported. Please use manual input.
So he he pressed the manual input button. And the chair began to make a buzzing sound.
The voice said: Please turn dial to specify your destination. Warning! Once set, departure is imminent.
He proceeded to enter his destination coordinates. And turned the dial.
When he stopped the dial at his destination the chair began to vibrate, then what appeared to be lightning surrounded him.
Back in the forest the noise was heard by the owners of the cabin. They looked up and saw it disappear. One of them shouted: No no no no no! This isn't fu*king happening! I told you to put a lock on the door!
"Yes I know", her friend answered, "my bad!". He took out a device the size of a cell phone. "Initiating Phoenix Protocol."
And started punching in coordinates.
