Trump must be ecstatic about this …

My strong advice is for President Biden to choose a successor, stat.

Biden stumbles a LOT but what I noticed was how much trouble he had regaining his feet.  I'm not sure he could have done it alone.  One need not see him fall to understand how frail he has become.  Just watch his gait.

Yep, its pretty obvious.

They should have found and groomed someone else to run a long time ago, especially with all the bad press around biden's age and other factors .

He stumbled on a sandbag while handing out diplomas at a graduation ceremony for the US Air Force Academy.

Mr Biden, who is the nation's oldest serving president at 80, was helped back onto his feet and appeared to be unhurt after Thursday's fall.

"I got sandbagged!" the president joked to reporters as he arrived back at the White House that evening.

He had been standing for about an hour and a half to shake hands with each of the 921 graduating cadets.

Footage shows Mr Biden appearing to point at one of two sandbags used to prop up his teleprompter as he was helped up by an Air Force official and two members of his Secret Service detail.

He was seen walking back to his seat unassisted and later jogging back to his motorcade when the ceremony ended.

Heck I have that issue at 66 years old and I don't bounce anymore when I fall, it's just a dull thud.

Perish the thought, but I think it getting to be more of a reality with each passing day.

I always figured they'd try to get Biden out after two years as that would give Kamala the potential to be president for 10 years. :w00t:

I thought that Biden was a mentally feeble old man and the Deep State/Illuminati already had control of the White House with him as a puppet?

He is and they are. Kamala would be a perfect fit.

If the figurehead can no longer be perceived by the public to function effectively then just change the figurehead.

Put your political thinking cap on and consider that.  Kamala does not even make a good figurehead.  She is as much of a nonentity as Pence.    A figurehead needs to be interesting and capture public attention.    Does that sound like Kamala or Mike Pence?

Seriously, I can't imagine Kamala or even Joe making it beyond 2024.  If the Dems are looking for a captivating figurehead, they better get busy fast.   That person would need to be under 60, supportive of progressive goals that capture the loyalty of voters under 60 and be calm and comforting enough not to terrify old people with too much change.  Corporate Democrats, like corporate Republicans won't like that.

The best  Dem candidate might be an anti-Trump, anti-DeSantis  progressive who believes in climate change, supports green energy, protects abortion and LBGTQ rights,  pushes for immigration reform and US foreign policy reform.

Maybe all of the things you disdain, but then it makes the contest pretty clear-cut  doesn't it?   Woke versus non-woke.

As a strong and resolute leader? No, but as the first woman president where the DNC gets to crow and grow votes out of it, Yes.

JMO, I  think that is the dream of an older generation.  Younger voters are going to need more than that.  It won't be enough to get votes out in sufficient quantities just to elect a woman president.

Politics does have a similarity to the free market system,  if you can't find what you want, you shop somewhere else.  Old school political organizations like the DNC  are stuck with  a product with low customer appeal.   If they can't do better, people will shop somewhere else.

The wild card would be that the other party has a candidate that as repulsive to voters as a green and purple leisure suit.  Then they vote against a candidate rather than for one.

Kind of a dip though, I think.   I don't have a lot of confidence in him.  Pritzker in Illinois might be a capable guy., but sad to say, many wouldn't vote for him because he is fat.  Really, no outstanding stars are waiting in the wings.

Just an interesting sidelight, AOC will be 35 in October 2024 an eligible to be president.   She might fill the bill for a lot of younger voters depending on how visible she makes herself in the next 2 years.  Sounds funny I know, but then Trump sounded pretty unlikely before 2016.

I think AOC has disappointed progressives. Of course that may not matter in the long run.

2-3 years ago,  my prediction was that in either 2028 or 2032 America will see an election race between AOC and Candace Owens. I am still standing by that.
