UK still paying nearly double the European average for electricity

Energy bills may finally be starting to fall — but Britain still pays more for its electricity than almost all other countries.

Households in the UK pay nearly double the average across Europe, according to research by retailer The Underfloor Heating Store.

It finds that we have the sixth most expensive energy tariff in the world — paying an average of 39p per kilowatt hour (kWh).

A single kilowatt hour is the amount of energy required to fuel a 1,000-watt appliance for one hour.

While I think most of us these days know your true intentions I have decided to say something about energy.

When a country spends its days building solar panels and windfarms due to crazy environmental policies it drives up the cost per kWh. Nuclear is the cheapest, we need more reactors. Expensive energy holds households and businesses back.

Of course, most of the price increase is due to inflationary pressure though (not Brexit for you!!!).

Did you ever live near a uranium mine or nuke plant, and would you?

'UK still paying nearly double the European average for electricity'- that is the Mail headline. So you are saying the EU is not experiencing the same inflationary pressures? Ever wonder why that might be the case?

Seeing as each EU member state is not an identical clone of the UK in identical trading environments then why would our inflation be identical?

Did you ever live near a colbolt or lithium mine?  And would you? Black lives matter, unless you drive an electric car apparently.

Just as bad and no. I like my V8 Fords. I'm into biofuel using wood and landscaping waste.

Apsolutelly not true. Wind and Solar are the cheapest form of energy, cheaper than coal or nucelar.

While coal and oil prices are on the rise, wind and solar installation prices are down as well as the cost of maintanence.

So, presumably when all our power comes from Solar & wind, our fuel bills will drop like a stone...correct?

I don't presume anything just stating the fact that is available for to look for.

Renewable energy prices are the only ones in decline. You can make fun of it whatever, it still does not change the fact.

What your goverment is doing to keep the prices high is their work and has nothing to do with what the rest of the world does.

Not making fun, as you say, just highlighting that if there is profit to be made somebody will be milking it.

Hang on, demand for electricity in the UK is higher than the EU.

The reason being is helicopter money to OAPs and various benefit recipients so they could keep using the same amount of electricity under the sanctions.
