Appearences can be misleading to the untrained eye.

Really?

Annecy prosecutor Line Bonnet-Mathis told reporters that the young victims ranged from 22 months old to three years.

There "doesn't seem to be any kind of terrorist motivation", she said.

Police say the suspect has refugee status in Sweden and recently came to France, leaving behind a wife and three-year-old daughter. In an unsuccessful asylum application last year for refugee status in France, he said he was a Syrian Christian.

During the incident, the attacker invoked the name of Jesus Christ.

A woman identified as his ex-wife told BFM TV that her former partner was a Christian.

He's either insane or hate-filled, regardless of what religion he claims.  Also, to have your first guess about his motives being that he was a Christian rather than a member of the peaceful religion of Islam, is like hearing hoofbeats and looking for Zebras.

BFM television reported that the suspect identified himself as a Christian from Syria.

The man appeared to shout “In the name of Jesus Christ” as he waved his knife in the air, according to witnesses, while people around could be screaming: “Police! Police!"

Where did I say his motivation was his Christianity?

All I suggested is that, given he's a Christian, it's unlikely to be motivated by Islamist extremism.

And my 'guess' is based on multiple sources with good knowledge. What is yours based on?

It's crazy how some people don't realize the middle east has a massive Christian population.

Your comment implied that you'd caught someone out blaming the wrong religious psycho.  If I misunderstood that then you have my apology.  FTR though... he really doesn't want to meet Jesus after he tries to kill little ones.

My comment implied that he isn't Muslim. Nothing more or less.

Anything else you bring to it is your own paranoia or guilty conscience.

A Muslim also shouldn't have high hopes for Jannah if they've killed children. Not if they've read the Qur'an.
