Amita Posted June 9 #1 Share Posted June 9 Not only are meats being "improved" with gene alterations, but now salad greens are better not bitter: https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/crispr-gene-edited-salad-greens-cola/

+OverSword Posted June 19 #6 Share Posted June 19 Quote A GENE-EDITING STARTUP wants to help you eat healthier salads. This month, North Carolina–based Pairwise is rolling out a new type of mustard greens engineered to be less bitter than the original plant. The vegetable is the first Crispr-edited food to hit the US market. Mustard greens are packed with vitamins and minerals but have a strong peppery flavor when eaten raw. To make them more palatable, they're usually cooked. Pairwise wanted to retain the health benefits of mustard greens but make them tastier to the average shopper, so scientists at the company used the DNA-editing tool Crispr to remove a gene responsible for their pungency. The company hopes consumers will opt for its greens over less nutritious ones like iceberg and butter lettuce. https://www.wired.com/story/wired30-crispr-edited-salad-greens/ 1 1 Top
tcgram Posted June 19 #7 Share Posted June 19 (edited) The only way I have eaten them is cooked with ham hocks or bacon, onion and peppers. The strong taste mellows out and goes well with the other ingredients. That's the only way I know how to cook them as well. Piney Posted June 19 #11 Share Posted June 19 Just now, OverSword said: Every time. According to my neurologist. Autism happens during brain development in utero every time. The part about the genetic malfunction whether from drugs, alcohol or a genetic chromosome disorder is a new discovery. Med Page Today has the recent paper online for free because you probably don't have my subscription services. 1 Top
