Wind and waves.   Quite common on lochs, especially in hot weather.    But, technically, it was the LNM (the LNM being anything observed on/in Loch Ness that the observer cannot themselves immediately identify)

my thoughts exactly.  When windsurfing you look for these color anomalies on the water.
