How do you know under what conditions and environments alien life forms would/could or won’t develop in?

I'm more than familiar with evolutionary biology. My eldest sister, a PhD taught it. Especially when it comes to filling niches in a ecosystem.

Ecosystems are what I reconstruct.

I also know how the humanoid body structure evolved and that it's such a "one off" the chances of it happening again are zero.

Your knowledge on ecosystems in this world are not in question but rather what you don’t know.

I can list endlessly on what constitutes intelligent life and the different types that could theoretically happen or even the type of worlds different to ours but it just as easily available with a quick search

For example, last month Tom Westby and Christopher Conselice, both at the University of Nottingham in England, made headlines when they calculated that there should be at least 36 intelligent civilizations in our galaxy capable of communicating with us. The estimate was based on an assumption that intelligent life emerges on other habitable Earth-like planets about 4.5 billion to 5.5 billion years after their formation.

It has to do with the body structure of the humanoid aliens described.

It's not happening. Intelligent life might be on all fours. But not bipedal unless it's built like a tyrannosaurus and has a large tail and a oversize moon pulling up on it.

And astrobiologists overthink evolution. They don't factor in it takes the path of least resistance.

Then there's the oxygen factor for technology (fire). Too much and you can't control it. Too little, it won't happen.

I think there's a good chance of life on the ocean moons of Jupiter and Saturn. I think they also might be affected by the low gravity of the moons itself and the high gravity of the gas giants pulling on them creating a "island gigantism" situation making them massive. But I guarantee they will be simple and they won't have technology.

Lawmakers claim UFO ‘cover-ups’ from Pentagon, military as witnesses head to Congress

During the recent trip to Eglin Air Force Base, Luna said she, Burchett and Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., were blocked by the Pentagon and Air Force from seeing information and pictures, from reading testimony from pilots who saw potential UFOs and from talking to witnesses. They visited Eglin Air Force Base because they were told they were going to be briefed on UFO-related issues, Burchett said.

This will be July 26.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/house-committee-hold-hearing-ufos-week-rcna95309

The House Oversight Committee will hold a hearing on unidentified aerial phenomena, often called "UAPs" or "UFOs," next week, Rep. Tim Burchett announced at a news conference Thursday.

Burchett, R-Tenn., said the committee will hear testimony from three witnesses: David Grusch, a former U.S. intelligence official; David Fravor, a former Navy commander; and Ryan Graves, a former Navy pilot. Graves and Fravor both claim to have spotted UAPs, Burchett said, and Grusch has claimed the U.S. has retrieved "intact and partially intact" vehicles of nonhuman origin.

Burchett said the hearing will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Congressman Says He Saw 'Top Secret' UFO Info on Extraterrestrial Crafts

Representative Tim Burchett, a Tennessee Republican, claimed on Friday to have seen "top secret" information about extraterrestrial crafts. Burchett has been among the most vocal members of Congress on the topic of UFOs, UAPs, and the disclosure of government information surrounding them. In June, the Tennessee lawmaker went so far as to accuse the government of covering up the infamous 1947 incident in Roswell, New Mexico, which urban legends claim involved alien spacecrafts crashing in the desert.

For f's sake, its just wasting taxpayer money.

Nice picture of a weather balloon that UFO debunkers claimed for 47-years was responsible for the Roswell incident.

Rrright... Super duper advanced aliens managed to crash in quite friendly environment, while capable to cross lightyears in pretty hostile environment... Think about it.

And when this "full disclosure" comes up as empty as all the others in the history of this phenomenon... then what??

3 days until these hearings. We'll see if we can finally put this childish nonsense about alien visitations to bed.

Well, why is the Pentagon still covering up UFOs to this very day?

Zero credible evidence will be presented, and a zero chance that it will get us closer to an answer to the UFO enigmaTheir claim is extraordinary, but the evidence is not. In order to buy the "evidence" they provide you always have to take that famous leap of faith, or read between the lines. I see no reason to believe that this full disclosure will end otherwise than the others before it. And when it fails, watch the believers go ape and take refuge under the conspiracy/cover up blankie.

What are you talking about?

Literally EVERYONE is talking about UFOs on social media... this full disclosure date, the hearings, eye witness testimony and the naval UFOs.

You cant have it both ways you know?

So they are both investigating the UFO phenomenon, and trying to cover it up??!!

Sounds to me like they absolutely suck at both objectives.

bmk, I'm thinking about it, too.

Are you suspecting that vehicles as capable as the UFOs would be too able to crash? Tough for me to argue but maybe they - like humans, are not perfect.

In the article, the Pentagon and the Air Force is covering up what Congress wants to investigate.  In other words, impeding Congressional efforts to investigate.

That presupposes that the aliens aren't being designed to be "alien enough" for first contact, but not so alien as to encourage complete fear and revulsion.  I've heard quite a few theories about gray aliens.  Some have said that they are shaven chimps much like "Sparky the Space Chimp".  Some have said that they are human beings mutated and evolved from space radiation and low light/low gravity conditions.  Or we may live in a somewhat Star Trek universe where sentience forms a bipedal with tool using hands niche the way European Crows and Australian Crows look, sound and behave identically but have no common ancestry to speak of.  Just spitballing some ideas.  Perhaps what I like about H.P. Lovecraft is that his aliens don't fall into this trap and are believably alien, because they are based on fish, molluscs, crustaceans and fungi?

The human body structure isn't a convergent. It didn't evolve to fill a niche. It's strictly due to environmental stresses and the whole theory in the Star Trek universe was it was seeded by a older advanced humanoid race.

@skyeagle409same sh!t, different thread.

Nothing new or compelling.

Isn't it amazing that there are folks who say there is no evidence of ET, while on the other hand, they made the following claims without evidence, so let's take a look at a couple.

Claim:  A weather balloon was responsible for the Roswell Incident

Fact:  In 1994, the Air Force discarded its weather balloon coverup and substituted what it claimed, was a classified Project Mogul balloon train #4. However, Project Mogul balloon records have proven that there was no such thing as Project Mogul balloon flight #4. Secondly, Project Mogul balloon flights and their missions were publicized in newspapers around the country and were sometimes recovered by civilians for rewards.

Claim: Roswell witnesses misidentified 6-foot test dummies as alien bodies.

Fact: In 1997, the Air Force issued another Roswell Report which claimed that 6-foot test dummies of Project High Dive and accident victims were the small alien bodies people saw in 1947. However, Project High Dive didn't begin until the 1950s and the accident victims involved incidents in 1956 and 1959.

So once again, certain people who continue to claim there is no evidence of ET, are the same people who had accepted without evidence, the Air Force's false cover stories related to UFOs. Simply amazing!!

Perhaps within a few Senate meetings (there's more than one scheduled) they will be openly discussing these types of situations:
