Bizarre viral video shows woman 'frozen in time' on the street

I could be wrong. By the looks of the location she might have been crossing the entryway to a parking area. Someone might have called out to her or she stopped midstride to wait for the go-ahead.

Gurdjieff’s Stop Exercise

Gurdjieff used the stop exercise as a way of developing awareness of habitual postures and movement. We hear about it first from Ouspensky, when he was with Gurdjieff in Essentuki in 1917:

“In order to oppose this automatism and gradually to acquire control over postures and movements in different centers there is one special exercise. It consists in this – that at a word or sign, previously agreed upon, from the teacher, all the pupils who hear or see him have to arrest their movements at once, no matter what they are doing, and remain stock-still in the posture in which the signal has caught them. Moreover not only must they cease to move, but they must keep their eyes on the same spot at which they were looking at the moment of the signal, retain the smile on their faces, if there was one, keep the mouth open if a man was speaking, maintain the facial expression and the tension of all the muscles of the body exactly in the same position in which they were caught by the signal.

It is the duty of the teacher to see that no personal injury occurs from falling or from unaccustomed postures, and in this connection the pupils must trust the teacher fully and not think of any danger.”

I was thinking she could have suddenly remembered something which stopped her in her tracks. Or heard something which she didn't recognise, perhaps she was wearing earbuds or something.

She does look to her right afterwards as if she was expecting to see something. She could have heard a vehicle of some sort along that entryway and waited thinking it was coming out.

Without the actual background noise it is difficult to tell. You could be right @Still Waters.

Why would someone record a pedestrian waking and at that time?

That is really amazing, how can they pause the video surveillance camera playback, without showing the Pause-icon on the screen. That is really miraculous. Ha Ha

That was my thought -- she was thinking about something and came to a sudden conclusion about it.  I've done something like that myself.

That is a logical choice, of course, but I think it was a setup.

I couldn't think of a cheaper, easier way to make a viral video. Record someone walking and then,... - brace yourself,,, *pausing*  :w00t:

How about this crazy idea.  Whoever was filming pushed...pause...and then just edited it out several seconds.  Hello people!  There isn't anything else moving  either...the only other thing moving in the video is an orange van and she is moving when it goes by.

I know right?  How is it in the 21st century...today's 21st century that people believe anything on film.  Wow...look...the bird is just floating in the air.  Wow!

Oh my god!!!!  Look that lady is frozen in time...it's so eery!  And what is viral anyway except a bunch of bored stupid people with apparently no life.

someone made a video of a video of a woman walking down the street, paused the first video, zoomed in and out then restarted the first video.

The earth is traveling at 67,000 miles per hour. If stuck in time...in two second she would be left behind for about 40 miles just on earth orbit. She would pass through the ground, destroying everything in her path.

Adding our solar system rotation speed in our galaxy but also our galaxy expansion speed in the universe and you can imagine the disaster... The sun and the solar system appear to be moving at 200 kilometers per second in the milky way.

I was wondering if she was using bluetooth earbuds while talking to someone, paused to listen because the call was dropped, only to have the call start up again.

Movie magic. Camera pauses, zooms in, pans around and unpauses.
