glug, glug, glug.  How many people will drown?  Too bad we don't have anyone in the government thinking about this in the right way.

The water isn't deep in that part of the river, but there is quick sand so it is dangerous.   Gregg Abbott will probably not win another election for governor.    Texas should enact term limits on their governor, it is ridiculous how long Perry was governor and now Abbott wants to be king of Texas for life.

Opponents of this and other measures Texas or even private landowners have taken are some of the most deeply disingenuous people of the modern age.

It is emotionally manipulative drivel, most of it.  But there are some stupid things going on that are costing the tax payers money in the name of "fixing something" that usuallly makes it worse.   Putting bouys in the river is probably illegal.  There are a lot of laws concerning rivers, river banks, and rivers as boundaries.    I know that pete sessions had that 8 mile long wall built along the easter part of the rio grande he actually stole land from U.S. citizens at the worst and at the least he put people on the wrong side of that wall that were U.S. citizens, including a very high end golf course.   A few ranchers had part of their ranch on the south side of the wall.

There are better, more common sense ways to deal with this available at a federal level if they only had the brains or the will to see it done.

Never fear!  Biden's DOJ has sued Abbot to cease and desist trying to secure Texas' own borders.  I think Abbot should send guard troops to stop the Feds from removing a single foot of the barrier.

It is a tragedy but once the word gets out that they cannot be evaded and that those who try will likely die, I'd say the lesson will keep down the numbers.  If that sounds heartless, so be it.  When will it be enough?  At what point?  How many millions can we absorb who come without any real desire in most cases to even be Americans?  The same thing is happening in the EU and UK.  The mass migration is destroying even the concept of national sovereignty. Exactly as it is intended to do.  There's a real price to pay at the end of that road.  I call it the "equilibrium of misery" and that will cure the problem sooner or later.

I think the damage done by a totally open border is going to require a lot of work to mend.  These people are coming by the millions because they've been promised an open door.  Most, by far, aren't even being vetted.  They are coming from all over the world across that border.  I think a day is coming when we're all going to see a price paid in blood and terror as a result of this insanity.

Have you ever been to south Texas?   There were already border blocks in place, they are huge wooden X like fences with barbed wire, or huge rolls of concertina wire, and it is really hard to cross them.   Those fences were put there by the feds, before homeland security was an agency, border patrol put them there.   What Abbot has done is put bouys in the river, which is illegal.

Here is what Abott did

The Feds had an obligation to at least try to stop the flow and they refused.  He seems to have chosen an effective barrier.  You know how I know this?  Biden is suing him to remove it.  Think about that a moment.  A US president suing a state governor over the gov. trying to stop a flow of illegals that numbers now in the MILLIONS.  Abbot should send guard troops to defend his state from mass migration AND the Feds, if need be.

It isn't Biden suing him silly, it is the Department of Justice.   You love pretending like Biden is the bad guy and so powerful he can do all kinds of things that are actually done by other people.  And the scare mongers, fear sellers have you emotionally in the palm of their hands with this because god forbid any one gets across the river.   You don't know how many people actually get across in that area, this is another media game and Abbott is playing it for attention, not to help anyone or keep any illegal immigrants out.  It is a game he is playing for the publicity and votes.

You salivate about this in every thread connected to the border. Give it a break. We get it; you want a lot of people to die.

Since you ignored it last time, I'll ask again here: how many of the 9/11 hijackers illegally crossed the southern border?

To stop how many Mexicans that died in the trunks?

The bodies of at least 46 people believed to be migrants were found in a tractor-trailer in San Antonio on Monday in what appeared to be one of the deadliest human-smuggling incidents in recent U.S. history. Early Tuesday, Mexican Foreign Affairs Secretary Marcelo Ebrard said on Twitter that 50 people had died.

This seems patently false.  All time record set in 2022 under Biden.

The U.S. set a new record for apprehensions at the southern border

October 24, 2022  5:00 AM ET

U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported 2.3 million migrant apprehensions at the southern border in the last 12 months — surpassing the record high set last year.

The annual total — which includes people who were stopped at the border more than once — jumped by 37% from 1.7 million the year before.

I would say that apprehending 2million illegal crossings is not an open border or that it shows a lack of trying.  Is it enough?  Probably not, but it is not the same as refusing to do anything. I know it will not satisfy you.

The Texas town caught in the middle of America's border battle

Under the brutal heat of the midday South Texas sun, pecan farmer Magali Urbina found herself dealing with a sadly familiar scene: a family of dehydrated, injured migrants on her property.

In front of her, Border Patrol officers were putting an IV drip into the arm of the father, a 32-year-old Venezuelan with dark purple bruises and fresh, swollen cuts across his body.

His wife, 22, sat next to him crying while their two children - aged five and eight - watched the situation unfold, alarm visible on their faces.

"This happens every day with that wire," Ms Urbina said, gesturing towards imposing and chaotic coils of razor wire glinting in the sun on Heavenly Farms, the property she runs along with her husband Hugo in the small town of Eagle Pass.

"I've seen this every day this week," she added. Just days before, she said, she had helped cut a pregnant woman free from the concertina wire.

Buckle up because it will  get worse.  What do you think climate change and excessive  summer temperatures will do to northern Mexico?  Same thing as happening to our Southwest.  There will be hot and dry farmlands with far less water for irrigation.  Even the Rio Grande  will shrink.  There will be more and more immigration pressure as climate refugees become a thing.  More will die in the deserts of Mexico and the Southwest.  And more will come.

Biden Administration set records for seizure of fentanyl and over 2 million illegal immigrants seized and returned.  That is better than Trump, but won't be enough.

Desperate times indeed.

Mexican presidential candidate unveils plan to keep migrants south of US border

Xóchitl Gálvez wants to find ways to retain illegal immigrants going to the US and give them opportunities in Mexico

In Mexico, the political environment has been discouraging for an opposition that has been unable to position an alternative to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), who has dominated public opinion since his first victory in 2018.

Yet things could be changing with the arrival of a disruptive leader who is rapidly changing the rules of the game by generating a wave of enthusiasm throughout Mexico, giving the opposition hope of winning the presidency in 2024. Her name is Xóchitl Gálvez.

Yes too bad indeed.  Yet, I don't think either party cares about the lives of United States citizens, much less the lives of foreigners.

TRUMP’S BIG BORDER WALL IS NOW A PILE OF RUSTING STEEL:(

wStacks of steel bollards sit in a desert. In the background, a blasted mountain and Donald Trump's unfinished wall.

Yep. there was no intention to build the wall, just get the government to pay his friends for services not rendered and materials that will not be used.  The design was severly flawed, almost as flawed as the illogic behind it.

That's not the whole picture as they are apprehended all they have to do is claim asylum and then they're given a court date and then disappear into the interior of the U.S.
