I think it is CGI but can't prove it. The display of the two UFO's moving very slowly looks like a creation that people can gawk at, 
and the part where the "exhaust" streams out of the bottom of the two UFO's just did not have a "real feel" to it.

He was actually pretty offensive with that looted Native baby skeleton gaffed up to look like a alien.
