Do you believe that you have ever been visited by a dead relative ?

It might just be the need to see our deceased loved ones one more time. We miss them, their touch, their smell, their love. There is no scientific reasoning for a dead organism to be able to contact the living, it makes no sense. The thing is, nothing paranormal makes any sense but yet I've had the visits from loved relatives, verbally and in very vivid dreams, beautiful stuff. I've seen the ghost of my step dad but that was different.

When my dad passed away. I had a lot of dreams about him whereas when he was alive, I don't recall having any. Maybe I just thought about him a lot.

Same here. I had a few dreams about my dad after he passed, and the theme was always the same. He kept reassuring me that he was ok. In my heart I like to think it was really him, even though in my head I think it was me dealing with my grief.

I have been a lucid dreamer from early childhood (before schooling age) and I have been visited by both of my parents in dreams after they passed physically.

The dreams I had of my each of parents after they passed while still lucid, could not be altered in the same manner and with the same ease that I influence 'regular' dreams on a nightly basis; so it seems there was a shared aspect to those visitation dreams.

That, and each dream where one of them presented seemed to be sharing a sense of wonder and everything is fantastic, don't worry, I love you.

About a week after my grandmother died I believe she visited me. She had a distinct pleasant smell as a lot of old people seem to have and I smelled her in the room with me. I also believe that we had a short conversation in a dream of my uncle shortly after he had died. My uncle was confused and frantically building a shelter in a forest before a storm came. He asked for me to help but then seemed to forget I was there. I saw my grandmother on the edge of the clearing and I stood next to her. We watched my uncle and I said to her that he’s dead and she affirmed that but said we can’t tell him he has to realize it for himself. It seemed very real and I have always felt that it was more than a dream.

Well, if you consider a person only an organism, then you are correct, but we are more than the sum of our physical parts (and maybe everything is, we don't know). I know a lot don't agree with this and that is ok, it is my belief or understanding and I don't expect any of us to have the same beliefs or understandings.

I have had dreams of visiting dead relatives as well as hearing my mother tell me something, also, a few years after my mother died, my sister in law had a dream with a message from my mother for me and one for my daughter.   They hit home, something she would not have known.   Unexplainable things happen all the time and for me that means that nothing is impossible, whether we understand it or not.

No and to be honest that's for the best.  I think if I was visited by a loved one after their death it would make it harder for me to let them go.

The dowager lady of hats believes she was visited by an old aunt of hers, full on “stood in the yard and walked away” apparition.
My grandfather fed crows in his old home, and a monster of a crow just sat on the window sill until the phone rung telling us granddad had died, flew off after the phone started ringing. Oddly enough a similarly large crow was apparently perched on my brother’s fence when he brought home my nephew for the first time

I had a relative working away who hadn`t told any of us that they were dying.

For about 3 months before they died I kept having odd experiences. The best I can describe it is as if something kept trying to get my attention but with no person being present. After they died and we got over the shock for about 6 months afterwards I kept getting woken up in the morning by something getting up off the end of my bed. As if something had been sat there watching me sleep.

Yes, my dad seemed to be more active than most. I had a few experiences and one kind of repetitive. He seems to have quieted down now probably at peace on a higher plane.

My mother was more retiring and inactive in life, and I really can't claim an experience. Rest in peace mom, no need to make a show.

I had one dream where my grandmother came through with her startlingly real voice and had a great message.

It's weird, I used to have weird dreams with my dad in them when he was alive, but since he died I have not dreamed about him.  I have dreamed about my brother and other dead realatives.

Yup. Like OverSword, mine involved my brother, and his studmuffin aftershave. It came at a crisis point, and gave me peace. My ex-wife, and daughter saw her 17 year old sister/aunt clear as day after we got back from the hospital when she died.

A lot of people report this sort of thing.  I've never experienced it, other than to have dreams of deceased family members.  I think it is common enough that we should probably take it a bit seriously, given we don't have any evidence based explanation.

One very odd dream, my deceased black cat sat on my chest, asked me strange questions. Though I didn't get any useful information from him or powerball numbers.

Lovecraft would say that your cat is not dead, his incorporeal being, liberated from the limits of his physical body, has returned from unknown regions to converse with you. Perhaps he wants you to accompany him on a dream quest.

I still here my sister's voice sometimes from behind.......but it hits me like a brick and the agony of watching her die comes screaming back.

My dad passed away when I was 18 I wanted to dream about him but out of the 38 years since he passed I think I’ve only seen him in a dream 3 times very briefly. My brother passed away 30 years ago and I welcomed the chance to dream about him but there again I’ve only seen him briefly 2 or 3 times. My mother passed away 4 years ago and she’s haunted my ass on and off ever since. I knew putting her in that nursing home p***ed her off. She was a mean person that just got ever more mean the older she got. But as far as being visited? I feel them near me sometimes and it’s a feeling I overlooked for a while until one day when I took the time to pause what I was doing and pay more attention to this feeling. It’s a very comforting feeling it’s as if there was one spot on the planet that had peace and tranquility it was right there in that exact moment. Have you ever walked through a thick fog? It feels like if you move you going to walk right through someone.
