Walker claims big cat sighting in Dartmoor, and deer carcass found

A walker is adamant he spotted a big cat roaming the UK countryside, and says he has a picture to prove it.

The walker, in his 30s, is sure he caught a snap of the wild beast during a recent trip to Dartmoor.

Jon, who didn’t want to give his full name over online trolling fears, says he and his family were so unnerved by the sighting they quickly left the scene.

And on the way back to their car they stumbled upon a half-eaten deer carcass, he claims - adding to their fears.

These big cats must be related to UFOs - they never, ever, appear to anyone with a  decent camera (and the ability to use it) ....

And why are such cats always melanistic leopards (or jaguars) and never normal ones?

Obvious melanistic leopards are obvious. Keep denying, though, for some unknown purpose; it makes you look intelligent?

I was wondering what the big reason for the prolonged denial of this is too... seems really silly we've gotten to an age where people mistrust each other so much and make up so much that after countless people see cats and one eats a deer we are still arguing about whether there's cats. Unreal.

And then to top it off... Essan wants to know why they are black. People are so ****ing ridiculous.

Because if there were a large number of big cats wondering around a small, densely populated nation like the UK there should be plenty of physical evidence, and there usually isn't.

It seems really silly we've gotten to a supposed age of reason where people will still believe everything they are told, even when there is little to no supporting evidence.

Unreal.

Everything you are told? It eating a deer and roaring at people isn't even evidence it exists? What else do you want it to do? And this is a shocker i thought you swore by everything you read on google, regardless somehow google is aware and you are not.

I have lived in East Devon, near the River Otter for the best pary of 70 years, and have yet to see ether a otter or a beaver dispite being a regular walker along its banks. Yet there are plenty of good photo's and video's of both of these animals. It is down to pure luck wether or not you spot these animals. Yet I have sen a wallaby or small kangaroo, also a animal that I later identified as a wolverine. Once I saw a animal running through a field of potates that I can only discribe as looking like the Greek styilised drawing of a horse. Deer, Fox's and Badgers are all common sights in the countryside around where I live, Grass snakes and lizards are not seen so often now as in the past.

Hi,

I agree that it's a bit odd that most photos are blurry and grainy and in most cases could just be a regular house cat, but then there is this photo:-

We have a thread about that photo.

To be fair, we don't know that the deer was killed by a big cat or that the roar was from one either - the witness just assumed that these were connected to his sighting.

I agree that that is a good clear picture - the problem is that we don't know where or when it was tKen. How (in) convenient

There could very well be escaped big cats in the UK but I'm yet to see a genuine pic proven to be taken where it was supposed to have been. This one looks like a large feral.

I don't know but nearly all the huge feral cats here in Oz are black. I don't think it's better cammo than tabby color so we can rule that out.
