pellinore Posted September 5, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2023 (edited) 13 years of the Tories looting the UK for what they can, and every service is on it's knees, not just healthcare and schools. And Gillian Keegan thinks we should be '****ing grateful', and Rees Mogg is 'hearted' by the massive increase in food banks. A German court has refused to extradite to the UK a man accused of drug trafficking because of concerns about prison conditions in Britain, in what is thought to be the first case of its kind. The decision has been described as a “severe rebuke” and “an embarrassment for the UK” by a member of the Law Society. The case involves an Albanian man who lived in the UK. He was accused of trafficking approximately 5kg of cocaine and of laundering about £330,000. | Prisons and probation | The Guardian Edited September 5, 2023 by pellinore

L.A.T.1961 Posted September 5, 2023 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2023 So the UK does not have to pay for a court case or keeping the individual incarcerated. When it is impossible to extradite economic migrants back to EU territory, due to their lawyers, I consider this a small win. Pity the UK does not use this argument when it comes to illegal immigration, just remind those in the EU that the UK is unfit, not just prison's, and they should instantly repatriate all migrants back across the channel. Strange they have not thought of this already
itsnotoutthere Posted September 5, 2023 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2023 (edited) "The case involves an Albanian man who lived in the UK" ...so not British then. Perhaps the Germans should send him back to Albania, I'm sure their prisons are top notch. Edited September 5, 2023 by itsnotoutthere

pellinore Posted September 5, 2023 Author #7 Share Posted September 5, 2023 Tbh, I think Germany has got a bit of a cheek criticising us.When was the last time someone escaped from a British prison by jumping over the fence on a motorcycle or a mass escape through a secretly dug tunnel, or during an ill-conceived football match between the guards and the inmates? I think Germany need to take look at themselves before commenting on our prisons.

They need to make them worse. Cram them into cells like sardines in cans. Give them prison outfits, a blanket each, a cell toilet, and bland food that meets their nutritional RDA. Give them nothing else. If they cause problems then send the skull crackers in. Scum.
