UK’s Horizon deal with EU ‘could help stem Channel migrant crossings’

Britain’s deal to rejoin the Horizon research programme could pave the way for a new migration agreement with the European Union.

Officials believe the improving relations between London and Brussels could be harnessed to negotiate a new partnership with Frontex, the EU’s border force, to help stem the flow of small boat crossings.

An animal and plant health deal to cut border checks is also in the sights of British negotiators after they wrapped up talks over the EU’s £81 billion science programme.

"New migration agreement" means more "engineers/scientists" boat landers on UK shores...

Yes, this means stepping up their supply of scientists & engineers. Actually a few women & children would make a nice change.
